Have wondered why she never performed this song on an album.

Dancing in the dark 'til the tune ends We're dancing in the dark and it soon ends We're waltzing in the wonder of why we're here Time hurries by, we're here and gone Looking for the light of a new love To brighten up the night, I have you love And we can face the music together Dancing in the dark What- though love is old What- though song is old Through them we can be young Hear this heart of mine Make yours part of mine Dear one, tell me that we're one Dancing in the dark 'til the tune ends We're dancing in the dark and it soon ends We're waltzing in the wonder of why we're here Time hurries by, we're here and gone Looking for the light of a new love To brighten up the night, I have you love And we can face the music together Dancing in the dark

This woman's voice and singing is a new discovery for me - one of the most beautiful voices and song interpreters I've heard in years. And wonderful diction - can understand every word. Unlike most singers with a forced straight tone and no consonants. And this is a physically beautiful woman. Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan gained a lot of weight too. Maybe we need to park some of our American cultural expectations about appearance at the door.

I love the duet she did with Buble on this song. They had great chemistry on the video. I think it was done when Buble was still single. Hmmm.

I see many compare Ms Monheit with Barbra Streisand, Ms Streisand is one of the greatest female singers of the last 50 years, but although she has that wonderful voice and the ability to sing everything beautifully the difference is that Jane Monheit is that very rare thing, a genuine Jazz artist and comparisons are unfair both are the best in their own fields

I"ve only just found Jane and think she"s fantastic, I agree with a previous comment, she does sound a lot like barbara streisand.

I have been listening and admiring my lovely Jane for years and I am so glad that she is not a mega star! I am glad she hasn't sold out and keeps her gorgeous kind and feminine style to a small crowd, her true fans <3 She is absolutely the best!

Beautiful voice and a great singer, but turning commercial and phoney sometimes. Well, it may be difficult to live well off Jazz alone...
@777magnus12 жыл бұрын
@CosmosMarinerDU Really? Well that could explain it, occupational hazard indeed it is. I'll watch (and listen) to some more of her, but I do hope she doesn't let herself go, it happens so often, called contentment I gather... Still, the VOICE is the thing, and that is as lovely as ever..

Sadly she seems to have developed a little in the last few years in not the best of ways, Check out some of her more recent sessions... Nowt wrong with her singing though!

Indeed she has, but like so many artists that choose NOT to habit the POP world, she remains known only to a few aficionados of vocal jazz, the World's loss I'd say
