A question I asked myself about the language of the sacred in a profane world was whether it would be acceptable to speak of amending man's stand before God, and that it was, owing to his death and righteousness Christ himself who amended, while the rest of us in humble silence only remain grateful for this transformative change, not because we have, but believing he was without need of change, the one whose death enabled God to live with us, so for ourselves to posit our trust that he achieved this end for us without ourselves paying the price, so standing in that conviction that his was the worthy work which fulfilled rescue for us who tread over fathoms of deep water fated only to drown, our thoughts turned to wanting to reach out a hand to him and thank him who saved us.
