Thanks for your interest. Yes, it can be done. But it's a big project. You would have to translate the English script into Spanish, then record it, then send me the Spanish audio file. Then I could produce a Spanish version. This should be done for all three videos in the series. The translation and the audio recording have to be professional quality.

This is a FANTASTIC series! Don't know if your three volume books read all the way through like the Amazon sample does, which if you read the Vol 1 sample reads like a story. I was hoping all three were biographical than story telling. Maybe I should get the first Vol and see if it's all like that. When I read a biography I prefer it to read like a biography not a story. That being said there are people who prefer it the other way around. But this video series is superb!!!
@loumarinoff

Thanks so much for your appreciation of this video series! Like the books, creating it was a labor of love from start to finish. As concerns the books, and as the front covers say, they are "romantic historical fiction" and not "biography". Since you prefer biographies to "stories" (as you call them), you'd probably be disappointed by the books. The genre of "historical fiction" uses history as a backdrop to tell a fictionalized life story, whereas the genre of "biography" is a faithful history of someone's life. So please just enjoy the videos, which are definitely biographical in character.

So I came here for nice jokes but I ended up in some weird lesson about offenses. It's all good but I dislike the way you're so sure about such a complicated issue, seems antithetic to the philosopher's ethos. Racism is an obvious one, and I'll be happy to classify it as harm rather than offense, but with the current proto-fascist ambiance in the US your speech leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
@loumarinoff
@loumarinoff 8 ай бұрын
First, I am not responsible for your expectations: you are! Second, I am entitled to be sure about some things, and you are entitled to be unsure. But there is no such thing as "the philosopher's ethos": we all have differing views! My views on this topic are consonant with those of Epictetus (Enchiridion), Marcus Aurelius (Meditations), and John Stuart Mill (On Liberty). For a more in-depth explanation, read Therapy for the Sane www.amazon.com/dp/1949003876. Third, the "bad taste" in your mouth was already there to begin with, and its root cause is a poisoned mind. I sincerely hope you take the cures offered by the above-mentioned philosophers.

"You cannot consent to being harmed..." The BDSM community would like a word with you...... ....Although, in fairness, proper BDSM does have safe words and the stop light system. So one can consent to some level of 'harm', though i suppose it would be more accurate to say one cannot consent to unwanted harm. However....there may a caveat to that also....as there are exceptions to every rule, including that one.

I'm currently enjoying one of the books you wrote, and would love to subscribe to your channel... Though I discovered your connection with the W.E.F... which is- concerning. To say the least. Particularly with Schwab at the helm. I'm not sure anyone could be summarily convinced that he's actually human. He has MANY theoretical and philosophical underpinnings of someone who could have been the illicit love child of WWII era Dr Mengele. The man is chillingly depersonalized on every possible level to anyone I have met that values actual LIBERTY. Not freedom (or freedumb, take your pick these daze...?!). People with notions of the concept of freedom are a dime a dozen and decidedly different than those who live for liberty. Think: the law of Thelma, "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law"... Provided that ye harm none. And is is enshrined in the Hippocratic oath- which (most notably, and especially after the hysteria events of the past several years) mean MUCH less in practice than in does in theory. Seems harm may just be as relative as offense or deception- though I would contend that harm may not be actually know for MANY years to come in some cases (here's looking at you: Monsanto 😉, etc). For the wise: deception, and offense are a valued currency proportionately leveraged in the economic construct with the addition of only one ingredient: FEAR. Studies in primates (not Bonobo) with currency/reward have amply confirmed this. And I MUST remark how extraordinary your experience is having worked with the WEF, and studying in Hebrew/Israeli regions (I recall reading that in the bio). As well as Asian studies. Quite interesting that Japan is governed differently now... (Then again, so is... Antarctica?!)... I would love to know your actual thoughts on Zionism... Although I realize it's rude to actually ask, and I understand you would never likely discuss such a contentious subject (officially or un). Thank you for the work you have done, and published in the realm of applied/practical philosophy! Perspective really IS everything, and I suspect this has helped many more than you'll ever begin to know, whether in the decades past, currently- or in posterity.

Thanks, Kwen, for your many and varied comments, and for trying to assemble assorted pieces of my life into some sensible whole. Brief responses: It is impossible for anyone to understand how the world works (or doesn't) unless one meets regularly with world leaders. It was a privilege to serve as Faculty to the W.E.F. from 2000-2007, and since that time as Faculty to Horasis, among other global visions communities. This space is not the proper place to discuss Professor Schwab, who founded the W.E.F., nor to discuss my involvements with his among other such organizations. If you read The Middle Way (2nd edition, 2020) or better On Human Conflict (2019) you will find ample studies of primatology (bonobos included) that relate directly to human society and politics. Suffice to day that radical Leftists among other delusional ideologues have ignored 35 million years of primate evolution to their (and our) profound detriment. There is no contradiction between serving the W.E.F. and supporting Zionism! Nor is it rude of you to ask. Again, my support for Israel is plainly elaborated in The Middle Way (2nd edition, 2020). My late mother's family were Zionists, and my late father fought in WWII for Canada, then fought with the Haganah and the Palmach during Israel's War of Independence. For me, the existence of the State of Israel is NOT negotiable. Please read The Middle Way, especially chapters 14 and 15. You are more than welcome for whatever help you and others may derive from my works, which are indeed intended to make the world a better place and not a worse one.

@@loumarinoff THIS! It's amazing, thank you so much for your insight and experience, while I do (and so do MANY others globally) GREATLY distrust the WEF and their agendas for a globalized social currency or social credit score; I suspect it's largely to do with supporting leadership that backs abhorrent Communist ideals (and let's face it, ideals were NEVER actually created to be practical or realistic)?! It seems these daze, many have been gaslit psychologically into accepting the notions that they should or could theoretically be punished for promoting liberty (or, heaven forbid: agorism). As opposed to the Communist or Marxist ideals so admired by these world leaders. I suspect, I would say by the end of my time here: "This has been quite an extraordinary & historically significant recurrence"! My grandfather was a naval service man for the U.S. during WWII. He helped deliver the weapons that nuked Japan at Hiroshima and Nagasaki... which now has a different set of internationally governed laws. Much like Antarctica. 😉 If: "there's no business like show business", there's also: no law like maritime law. He took up a pipe while in the Navy, and because of the tar (in theory- I'm sure asbestos in shipyards had zero effect🤔) died a horribly agonizing death of lung cancer. It seems everything and anything is weaponized incidentally through neglect, special interests (lobbyists), or by sheer plausible deniability! I thank my lucky stars each day I haven't personally birthed any other living soul into this horrifying fever dream. Again, thank you for your insight and your contribution to those who strive to stay any manner of sane or rational in this socially and anthropologically "Mad World" with 8 BILLION and counting hominids 🥴 That's amazing!

I am a guitar player and I know the life of Sor. It is to me astonishing the level of detail contained in this trilogy. I don't understand if this trilogy is romanticize or is it actually based on historical sources. Have really Sor and Goethe met and developed a relationship? Frederick Wilhem mentions Sor in a letter to his daughter? Have really Sor and Goya met? I have purchased the books and looking forward to read it
@loumarinoff
@loumarinoff 2 жыл бұрын
How great that you play guitar and know about Sor! The detail in the books is much more exquisite than in these films, which are just a sketch of his life fleshed out with music. Thanks so much for purchasing the books! They will also answer some of your questions. They list all the resources I consulted during a dozen years of research, and the Preface explains how I combined romantic fiction with verifiable history. Of course Sor and Goya met! They were both sponsored by the Duchess of Alba, and lived in her Liria palace at the same time. Nothing in the films or the books is contrary to history. Where history does not speak, I found space for creativity in bridging many gaps in Sor's historic life. Enjoy the books!

How serendipitous! I´ve been playing his music since childhood and ended up in Spain doing a bit of amateur dramatics and thinking I´d like to do some sort of a play about this musical giant and "traitor" somewhat bemused that there are no monuments to him in Spain and only one street, on a new Malaga housing development. So, of late have started an experimental theatre course in Barcelona where Taoism plays its part in the school´s teaching. And just before I stumbled upon your book I got thinking "Where was Sor born?" In Barcelona, I mean. I fully intend to buy your books professor, but, just as a "spoiler" is it known in which street and at what number he was born? Would I be able to find some plaque attached to his birthplace? As a footnote, I´m not sure the Spanish are that interested in musical history. There is a plaque commemorating the birthplace of Luigi Bocherrini up a sidestreet in the cool but downtrodden Lavapies district. Most educated spaniards have heard of him (Italian by birth, Madrileño by adoption) but each time I drag some friend up that sidestreet to marvel at the sight, the reaction is "Yes, nice....fancy a beer!"
@loumarinoff
@loumarinoff 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comments, Graham. Serendipitous indeed! The Fernando trilogy will give you ample material for a play. There is a church record of his baptism but (to my knowledge) no record of his exact address at birth, somewhere in Barcelona's "Dry Quarter." Alas that Spain does not emulate those bright blue disks of London, showing where so many great historical personages lived. We know Sor's later addresses in Paris and London, but some of these abodes are no longer standing -- swept away by urban renewals. There is a Calle Ferran in Barcelona, named in 1848, but I do not know which Ferran it is named for. And since a few years back there's an annual Fernando Sor Guitar Festival in Barcelona, so he has finally if posthumously received a well-deserved if long overdue "homecoming." I hope you enjoy the trilogy, and these associated videos, which reveal what a "superstar" Fernando became during his lifetime, and also why he had to leave his beloved homeland to fulfill his magnificent destiny.
