after a year how do like the Hiker? thinking of a Hiker after selling my KZ travel trailer.

Interesting background on that Beech Fork Campground: the entire campground area was only 1-2 feet above the creek originally. The Corps excavated acres of the lake bed just downstream of the campground boat ramp to build up the campground to its current elevation above the normal summer pool of the lake. Shortly after installation of the paving (roads and camping spaces), utilities, bath houses and landscaping, the entire area was flooded after a large storm. The campground survived as did the areas downstream. BFL was a fun project to work on.

Oh man, I want a bronco so bad!

Pretty nice trailer, for sure. It’s definitely a factor in length that these should be longer. If you want a coil spring mattress in this unit, they are expensive!! They need to be custom made. A normal queen mattress is 60 x 80 inches. A 5 wide can squeeze a roll out mattress easily enough, but if you want to take it out,,,,, good luck! 😂😂. Foam is the way to go and split down the middle the best. Basic foam is comfortable enough for most, but if you have a bad back,,,,,, well,,,,. I have a tear drop style trailer in a R-Pod. It has a dining area that converts to a bed, it’s now just a bed with a custom made coil spring mattress. Heh heh. The front has two bunks that can actually sleep adults reasonable comfortable at heights of less than 5’11” tall. You two are fine!! I’m a little jealous as I’m only 5’8” tall!! 😂😂. The trailer also has a wet bath, for those night time bathroom trips, I’m 60 yrs old now,,, ha ha, life and age change certain things,,,, haha. My buddies are a little older!! We have the suspension built for off-road, so everything R-Pod for the suspension is gone and there’s a BIG step up to get in as it is now on 33” tires. We have beat this thing up!!! It’s still just fine and ready for more!! Big props to the manufacturer. Anyways,,,, I really like the trailer you bought here!! A RTT is a great idea for more sleeping arrangements! I wis you all the best!! Oh yeah,,,, nice Gladiator as well!!

Beech fork is amazing (as long as the weather cooperates). If youre in WV in the future, camp in East Fork campground located in Durbin, West Virginia. Heads up you're off the the grid. No cell or WI-FI service for 13,000 square miles but its soothing.

Almost bought one but the “hiker” community killed it for me. Came across like a bunch of elitists….should be about getting out there not what trailer you own or if you bought new vs used.

I would think white roof is to reflect the sun as with most RVs. And congratulations on your Hiker I’m jealous.

Is that an Ikamper on your Jeep?

Have you tested the 120 volt connection near the back of the trailer? I may be wrong, but I don't think Hiker trailers come with a dedicated shore power plug. Most setups that I've seen with two 120 volt plugs have one going to the battery charger, the second is strictly to power a roof top A/C unit. You might check your options build list to see if it includes a roof top A/C prep package where they install the wiring and the roof bracing without actually installing the A/C unit itself. If that's the case then that plug is probably not currently hooked up to anything. Check with the factory to be sure, but just wanted to give you a heads up before you put power to a wire that isn't connected to anything. With so much time to design this thing - why wouldn't Ford give it a proper rear "window" on the soft top, so you can stand up normally when you load things in/out? Also, why wouldn't they devise a flat floor from cargo area to folded rear saets? To miss these obvious things is unforgivable when they've had so much time to get it right. You can sleep flat in an old Expedition/Explorer or even Escape - but not the brand new Bronco... Just ridiculous. Good video though, looked like a good time. Depends undergarments might be something to consider for these occasions... I've never had the courage to try it - but it's always in the back of my mind...

So I mainly watch this video because I'm getting a bronco myself and wanted to see how camping in the back of it would be versus the truck tent that I have now for my F-150.
