My daughter is doing well. She will likely always need glasses with a slightly different prescription to help her weaker eye, but she has made enough improvement in vision therapy to not need it anymore. She gets an eye exam yearly and her progress maintains stable over the years.

My daughter is doing well. She no longer shows signs of torticollis. Going to regular physical therapy and doing the exercises at home made such a difference. We're grateful to God that she responded so well.

At what months you started the theraphy?

What does your ophthalmologist and/or optometrist share with you his/her opinion about the cause for you? If so, what is their theory?

@@MyTorticollisBaby I don’t know I haven’t asked. I never thought torticollis and visión corilates with each other so I didn’t ask. Until now I saw your video I’m concerned that I may have a pinched vessel or nerve. Torticollis itself is rare.

@@HACKS886 If you are concerned, I would recommend making an appointment with your eye doctor. My child's eye doctor wasn't worried, especially as there were things we could do to treat her amblyopia (for example, glasses, patching, & vision therapy). The glasses and vision therapy really made a significant difference for my daughter. I pray that you will find some answers that will bring you peace.

I can't remember for certain, but I think she was likely crawling around 10 to 10.5 months. Have you talked to your pediatrician about your concern? If your pediatrician thinks its appropriate, he/she may refer you to a physical therapist where they can work with your son on specific exercises to help him crawl.

@@MyTorticollisBaby thank you. Started PT exercises 3 weeks back, still waiting for results but since it's so much of a delay the doctor has also referred to the neural department . . When did your daughter walk do you remember.

No, the eye doctor didn't speculate of when these eye issues arose. My best recommendation would be to take your child to an eye doctor shortly after a torticollis diagnosis and see eye doctor for yearly check-ups afterwards (if that's what the eye doctor recommends). I wish we had went back for yearly checkups between her initial visit (before 1 yr old) and her 5 yr old visit. We may of caught her eye issues earlier if we were doing yearly checkups. My daughter started torticollis treatment at 7 months, and she was considered torticollis-free by 3 years old. Aw, I'm sorry. I remember when my daughter first received the diagnosis and how upset I felt. But this is not your fault. Your daughter is blessed to have you as such caring parent that is taking her to physical therapy. I'm so glad you find the content on My Torticollis Baby helpful!

Don’t blame yourself!!! It’s more common than you think, and sometimes there are contributing factors that we don’t know about or can’t control.

Whats happened with your daughter

Hi Sun Mao! Great question. No, the eye problems I mentioned don't happen to every child with torticollis. There can be an association of torticollis and eye issues, but that is not the case for every child with torticollis. My suggestion would be to take a child with torticollis to an eye doctor for a full eye exam and explain to the eye doctor that the child has torticollis so the doctor can look out for eye conditions that can be linked to torticollis.
