I disagree with Stephen McBride on GenAI. About 5% of the GenAI solution is GPU infrastructure. Half of the Nvidia sales were to seven companies, MS, Meta, Apple, Google, Super Micro, Dell, and Amazon. Many of them already announced they will be making their own GenAI chips, i.e. Apple, Google, MS, and Amazon announced stopping of orders until Blackwell's shipments. You need to look at Sequential Qtr over Qtr growth (~18%) for Nvidia (sales last qtr were $26b), YOY is really just hype with a valuation of $2.8 Trillion dollars. AMD and Intel will be catching up by year's end and the economy is slowing so there is no assurance that capex spending will drive GenAI scale infrastructure quickly. We could see GenAI pcs and POC (Proof of concept), workshops for design, etc be worked by enterprises for a few years before they scale services with a usable credible monetization plan. Full GenAI infrastructure for scale is millions of dollars and electric costs are very high. I think we will see GenAI at the edge, in distributed networks, with power generation via fuel cells at the edge and using Small Language Models that are modular and Team together to do work in contrast to large DCs and centralized solutions. GenAI is big, cause it's all about Big Data. The new part is Generative and IP ownership, licensing, data inputs, design to Use Cases, etc all are big discussions to be had by corporations prior to proceeding into offering services. The big Chatbots are first but the big money is enterprise solution based. In a slowing global economy companies may claim GenAI is justification for job reductions but it's going to take time to get there.

We are at the tail end of the economic cycle. Consequently, purchasing real estate at this juncture may not be prudent, as the market is likely to experience a downturn before the commencement of a new cycle.

Holy Crap! D. Lin takes his hair on the road vs. Tony The Mooch. An epic battle of two follicly boosted titans of our time. Lin, the champion in a bold move to expand his territory shows his time-honored gel style with slight flyways of wispy flocks to distract his opponent away from the home studio advantage. Tony The Mooch certainly a write off in some hair battle fans eyes, is in the midst of possibly the greatest late career hair battle comeback of all time. The Mooch shows signs of age as there is no gel left in his hair game. But, his experience and moral fiber of mane has always held strong over the decades. This battle for Mooch is based on his faith in a natural pompadour style and could possibly be his last hurrah to once again triumph over this next generation of chutzpah filled champions like Lin.

The conversation is a bit disingenious. The bottom 50% may not have a lot of wealth, but they still have income. They choose to spend their income, and in a way it's an advantage and also makes them available to get more welfare, including defaulting on debts easier. There's a reason the low end wages keep up with inflation better, cause regardless of their lack of wealth, they will always have to be paid enough for their expenses or they aren't going to show up for work.Yes, there is about 12% in poverty but it's probably due largely for medical reasons and a lot of people on disability. If you add up all the benefits they do receive it adds up to a lot.

AI is just a dream, a con. The power needed for it to continue just can't be created, why, because we don't have enough oil left.
@thesolitaryadventurer19 сағат бұрын
You should look into bitcoin. You could make the same argument that there is no power for it but the truth is that these electronic creations can search out stranded energy. As an extreme example, AI could be run on servers that are cooled by seawater, powered by solar/tidal, and communicated with by satellite. Now that isn't power that households would have access to, and it ain't relying on oil.
@johnB11ify19 сағат бұрын
@@thesolitaryadventurer Keep dreaming. I suggest you look up how many products use oil for manufacturing. No extremes needed.

It only drags everyone down to obsess on the percentage of holdings or income of the top X%. That's just mathematics, what is called a distribution. Think. The bottom 10% cannot do 90% or even 11% of the total. What SHOULD be pointed out in each and every, each and every discussion is that the top 10% pay nearly 80% of ALL INCOME TAXES. That means they are the ones PAYING for what Californians/Bernie zombies scream of.
@Bill_WooКүн бұрын
That said, inflation IS robbing the elderly, disabled, and everyday workers that can't say "prices rose 20% so you must give me 20% more". And the laughable fiction of the BLS CPI drives the point much, much deeper. But the focus should not be on "the rich"; it's the Congress, stupid. Or the brain dead voters that vote Democrat because they cluelessly fall for political chicanery.
