Thanks for the video Bharath, on a scale of ten, how would you rate the control, power, spin and pop. Is this comparable to the $250 Luxx Control Air Epic?

This would be a much better video with some general commentary about how the paddle feels performs what was your mistake or the paddles shortfall aswell as it took me way too long to figure out which one of you even had the quartz paddle

@MrSupasonics3 күн бұрын
May I ask about power and pop of Quartz? How's the swing weight feels?
@bk_pickleball3 күн бұрын
Definitely more of a control paddle. The swing weight is very light, under 110 so the paddle feels very fast in hands battles. The pop is good enough to do the job at most levels, and the low swing weight makes up for the lack in raw pop and power.

@@bk_pickleball- what is the weight of the paddle? And how about the feel for drops and dinks?
@echotango-az4 күн бұрын
So how does it play?
@bk_pickleball4 күн бұрын
The paddle is unreal value for money!! Very control based, as you can see, some pretty great drops and resets there without having to get used to the paddle too much. Also a ton of spin out the box, very good on rolls and slices. It's geared towards intermediate players looking for good control and don't need a long handle. For under $100, might be the best value paddle out there, almost a budget version of the ProXR Sweet Spot Max.

So what are your thoughts on the Shogun?
@bk_pickleball16 күн бұрын
Fantastic power paddle, feels very different than most paddles. Has very good dwell time, and the spin is pretty decent as well. I had a lot of control on dinks, but the paddle is very hard to reset from transition or drop consistently in indoor conditions with hard balls. As you can see from the game, I was driving most thirds, so it's definitely geared more towards players that like to drive and counter the ball a lot. Unreal pop when you hit the sweetspot. Personally, I'm a big fan, it's just not for everybody haha!

Question, I noticed your 3rd shot drop lands at the back of the kitchen. If I use this in my games, my opponent reaches in and attacks while I'm still back.... this pushes me out of position. How can I build a 3rd shot that drops a foot or less into the kitchen. I need a fully unattackable ball for a 3rd shot.
@bk_pickleball16 күн бұрын
Deeper thirds are good when you can hit them away from your opponents and get them moving. Shallow thirds can be hit with the same mechanics, just add more height so the ball has time to drop down closer to the net. As long as you can get your opponent hitting the ball from below the net, it doesn't matter much if they take it out of the air. The goal is to get them playing from below the net so they have to swing upwards.

One trouble I find myself in is when I'm playing bangers. Does everything you're teaching still apply when there's a hard drive coming at you? Thanks in advance.
@MLB121220 күн бұрын
I think this is an excellent question. I have my own ideas but lack the certainty to opine on this issue. Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable will comment
@bk_pickleball20 күн бұрын
For the most part, yes! Biggest difference is, a lot of the times with a hard drive return, you don't have time to really wait for the ball to start coming down before making contact. What you wanna do for those is slow down the swing speed and follow through, and most importantly, get more height on the drop! Softening the ball and getting a smooth arc on the shot will help drop it in the kitchen

Right now my go to paddle is the Neonic Flow which is a really nice all court paddle. Had a Luxx too but returned it. Very head heavybl and lacked power.

The woman in green with the dark hair always goes to the middle and past the midline leaving her left side open resulting to turnovers. She had lots of errors too. The other team capitalized on this, played smart, adjusted accordingly and won.
