for your cotton bag - have you seen the trick to use a left needle 1 size smaller than the right needle? will need to swap to interchangeables but you keep gauge because of the right hand needle. there is a bit more slack when you go to knit the stitches off the left hand needle which may help the struggle to get under those stitches without a stretch in the yarn! just a thought 🥰

Have a great break. You deserve it. See you when you return. Love the crochet blanket. ❤. The Furls hooks don’t work for me either. I just use the Clover grip ones. They work so well for my crochet style. I have tried so many myself. Tools are so important for sure.

I’m a continental knitter and that is by far the fastest way for me. I use very little movements and even my purl is as fast as your flicking 😊 It is a question of keeping your index fingers close to the needle tips for minimal movement 😊

I'm using Red Heart Classic Crochet Thread Size 10 for my epic mal project. I get it from my local walmart but it's available online from several places. It's the softest size 10 cotton thread from the big manufacturers in my opinion. The 1000 yard balls only come in two colors, white and ecru; but that's what dye is for.

Kristin, I hope you have a great break! Looking forward to your return and all the projects you’ll have to show us. ❤️ I, too, am a glutton for half-square triangles. 🙋♀️ There’s a computer program called Triangulations that you might be interested in; Fat Quarter Shop sells it. You print sheets of paper that have sewing lines and cutting lines (it’s kind of like paper-piecing but SO much easier, you don’t have to guess what shape to cut). Cut two fabrics into 8.5”x11” pieces to match the paper, and put right sides together; put the paper on top and sew on the dashed sewing lines; after they’re sewn cut on the solid cutting lines; and then all you have to do is iron the half-square triangles, no truing up required! It’s great for when you need a lot of the same-colored half-square triangles, especially small ones. I don’t know if my explanation made sense, but it really is a great program, so I hope you’ll look into it. ❤️

Thank you, Kimberly!! 🤗 Ahh, totally forgot to link them. amzn.to/3Wl4CEg And thanks for the heads-up about Antique Flora. I actually cast on the Lunar Embrace 🙈 Hope you're having a fun/restful summer! 💖
@marapowell86597 күн бұрын
For the record: I knit the Antique Flora (featured here!) in Wolke, so fingering and NOT the worsted called for. I guess I figured 24/4 inches wasn't that crazy for a fingering, and seemed like a lot of stitches for a worsted. I may have had a slightly tighter gauge because I did somewhere between a 48 and 52 inch bust and it looks pretty fitted so minimal ease on my 48" bust. Also I wanted to make sure I had enough ease in the sleeves so I just cast on more stitches...not thinking about all the colorwork that is under the sleeve, with differences in the pattern for each size. So I charted my own underarm pattern to accommodate the extra stitches I cast on.
@thekindles11837 күн бұрын
@@marapowell8659 I wrote a whole thing on it on my Ravelry too about my experience with that pattern. I used mainly the right size (worsted and heavier dk) but found their sleeves to be too tight which is why I thought many people opted for a shorter sleeve. I admire your work for recharting. I didn't have it in me at the time. In order for me to make sleeves fit, I would have also needed to re-chart. Yours looks lovely! - Kimberly
