I cannot even begin to tell the stories of what my older sister's did to me on the ranch... I still have several scars on my body from the torture they inflicted. (I am 65 now.) We laugh every Holiday we have the chance to spend together about all of the wounds we inflicted on each other. There was no such thing as personnel space or any type shit. If I went in my sisters room and took something, I was gonna pay the price! My favorite is, I was breaking a horse maned Satin.... He bucked for about a minute, then settled down to a slow trot, my sister Kathe decide that was Not Enough... Came out of the grain room waving a grain sack. The rest is history, I was having a good time on this colt, & he just simply erupted into a class A bareback horse! I got hung up, & he drug me around a 2 acre pen twice, hanging under his belly. Have so many scars on my back from that. We still laugh, thought the pain is still there. One day........

It is VERY REWARDING in a way that no monetary value could ever match. A pay day doesn't erase a 15 year old girl shot up close with a shotgun and you holding some of her heart while doing everything you can still for her. A payday is also nothing compared to the exuberating experience of getting someone back and successfully doing what you were trained to do. While you may not experience the EXACT same things remember the bigger picture if things get tough mentally. You did everything you could and the people, animals and things you could save, you did.
