Good stuff here... just removed two 20 year old trees from close to house foundation in the nick of time... three inch roots found growing underneath house searching for water source!

I don’t know how long any repairs on this house will last because the landslide beneath it is still moving rapidly. Thanks for the nice video.

Believe or not, screw piles and cheaper than cement piles. If it is torqued to the proper torque, it will never move.

i live in a HMO in the UK and have this exact problem. our next door neighbor, has a tree right against the property (im in a terraced house) right on the property border to ours. and the roots have grown up through the foundations. we have a toilet next to our front door and now can't close the door to it or the fire door to the kitchen because the skirting board has soaked up this water causing it to swell. and this morning when walking half dead to get my caffeine fix, as i walked on one of the tiles, water and air, for lack of a better word, squelched out. the house i live in was only built 15 years ago. the tree is probably 10 years old trees next to your property are a serious problem, especially growing up the side of them

Why wouldn't you put a strong plate on the first pipe to increase the size of the support foot print? Seems like the installation would have longer lasting results
@DalinghausConstructionInc
@DalinghausConstructionInc Ай бұрын
Because we're not worried about support footprint and instead worried about skin friction on the entirety of the pipe.. It may seem that way, but it's wrong and wouldn't have longer lasting results. Making a big plate on the bottom would mean there's no skin friction whatsoever on the entirety of the pile.. relying purely on that plate and pipe. Our way allows the 30+ feet of pipe to all be in contact with the soil creating skin friction that will support much much greater loads for longer periods of time.

What’s the solution to settlement from highly expensive soil? I’d think filling in under the void left from a lift would be a problem after rain? Proper drainage after and don’t fill the void?…

If you have to know how expensive they are you can't afford them.

My local foundation guy said my stucco cracks are from the fact stucco doesnt really do well in arid climates. When the humidity goes from 12% to 100% twice a year it makes the wood swell and the stucco crack.

This is bs! We never have trees on our property, but always have to rake and sweep all the f leaves! The neighbor’ Christmas tree is bigger than their house now and other tree overgrown that half of it over our driveway! The reason they don’t care because they and the whole neighborhood is W! They jumped our fence and walk in our backyard looking for things as their own house!

Big old trees close to your houses, they do not only damage your houses and garages’ floors, but they are places for snakes, hidden cameras, and hiding intruders!

Do you guys fill mortar under to lift the slab, or is it done another way?
@DalinghausConstructionInc

We use a dual component structural expanding foam to fill the voids created between the slab and the soils during the lifting process.

couple years back i had an idea similar, but not for lifting homes with their foundations. to lift the structure in flood plains when they would flood to protect the structure... still have to worry about debris and such, and utility stuff... so also figured you'd need a centralized column as to retain them and as reserves. sill cool to see something similar thou :D peace.
