@@EmilyThabit I'm happy to help if I can. All such stories have a basis in reality, but nothing is certain. Which is for sure. In 1241/42 there was an event called the Tatar invasion. In 1241, the Mongol Golden Horde attacked the Hungarian kingdom. The reason is the refusal to release the Kun people they were looking for. The Kun people were previously accepted by the kingdom. Two landscape units were named after them, Kiskunság and Nagykunság. This became their place of residence. By the way, they fled from the Mongols during the attack...... At the village of Muhi, the Mongol army defeated the Hungarian army, the king fled to today's island of Krk (Croatia). At that time, this area was part of the Kingdom of Hungary. The Tatars destroyed 80-90% of the country in battles that were difficult for them. Including villages and people too. Only the fortresses and cities fortified with stone walls survived the attack. This is confirmed by the archaeological excavations taking place today. In 1242, the Tatars retreated to their territory in present-day Ukraine. We call the attackers Tatars, but in fact several peoples made up the army. The Mongols were only a part of it. They argue why they withdrew. It was probably part of the strategy. Then the king IV. Béla invited settlers from the west and began to rebuild the country. The system of stone castles was built at that time.
