It's funny how even now, people don't pick up on the actual story (possibly because the actresses playing Rita and Sue were older than the characters they were playing). It's basically about a predatory nonce (Bob) preying on school girls. Only in the 1980s would it be turned into a comedy.

Hi , i went from luton to small van because the luton was euro 5 and a lot of places now are ulez and it means paying to go through these places and also the small van now i can use has a car also so i dont need a car and a van and pay 2 lots of insurance and road tax and maintenance so its a win win for me . lets say i go off for the day in my small van to coast or something like that for personal use and when im ready to come home i have the possibility to get a load on my way home .

Sad to see this happen. I own a 1959 M-F 50 petrol that was made in the USA, But a few components still have UK stamping's on them. IMHO they are still making quality tractors; As I own a 2018 M-F 1526 diesel that is reliable, & easy to service as my 1959 M-F 50. Thank you for the video of Massey-Ferguson's being made in Coventry England.

@@Ayorkshiremansdailygrind: I myself spent part of today getting ready to have my Massey Ferguson 270 Diesel trucked from my mum’s farm in Southern Ontario, Canada to my rural property in Central Ontario about 2 hours away. I had to air up the tires, place the two batteries on a battery charger, hook a 6’ Bush Hog to the rear 3 point hitch and load a 6’ grader blade into the bucket of the tractor’s MF Quick Detach Loader. My 1985 model year MF tractor has just over 2000 hours on the engine but had previously been used to clean stables so there was a lot of wear in the front end spindle bearings and tie rod ends. Those issues have been addressed now but my injection pump needs to be removed and a seal kit installed to address a nasty fuel leak at the pump. This tractor will be replacing a 1963 International B414 (gas) that came with an IH 1550 front end loader. Sadly, the engine of that machine is worn out (very low oil pressure) and lots of leaks (hydraulics and rear main seal in the engine. Parts for that machine are getting hard to find in Canada and the repair bill would be more than the tractor is worth. Besides, it’s nice to now have a bigger 60 HP diesel tractor with a quick detach loader with down pressure and power steering. Before passing away in 2012, my dad owned a number of vintage tractors including a Ford 800 with an Arps Loader, a Ferguson TEA 20 and a Massey Harris Pony that came with a front mounted spring controlled blade, belly mower, chain harrows and wheel weights. Dad’s last tractor was an 1972 International 434 (gas) with loader. Out of all of these, my favourite all-round versatile tractor was the 1958 Ford 800. It did not have power steering and the front end loader had a trip bucket - that said, it had great pulling power and was easy and forgiving to drive.😂🇨🇦✌🏻

Hi . from my experience i like the mercedes sprinters for reliability with larger vans i had a luton which was roughly around 30mpg very reliable and good rates per mile , i currently run a fiat doblo sx maxi which is a great little van and does around 49.7 mpg on motorways and i think good all round fuel consumption , so far very reliable no issues and the other thing i like is its euro 6 so can go anywhere ulez /lez /caz and it doesnt have addblu fitted so saves money and a lot of adblu problems other vans have . hope this helps

@@Ayorkshiremansdailygrind Thank you for your reply mate, can you please make a video and explain how to load and unload a Luton van. I’m sure in a Luton van on a tail lift you can’t push the pallet at the back of the truck so I’ve heard it’s highly recommend to get a curtain side.
@Ayorkshiremansdailygrind
@Ayorkshiremansdailygrind 7 ай бұрын
@@shidy121 i cant do a video has i no longer have a luton van , you can push and pull out a pallet from the front of the van upto the headboard .... you can get upto 5 pallets at a push in a luton usually the more you put on the lighter they are because a luton only carries around 850 Kg the van is usually about 2m wide by 4.2 long but some differ so 2 pallets side by sdie uoto headboard then another 2 and one behind leaving the pallet truck strapped under fith pallet , or it could be 3 heavier pallets run down the middle of van . each van has its own merrits a curtainsider is much easier to load than a van with pallets . hope this helps

Great video.. I was full of ambition this year and then you hit nail on the head," Its not worth doing if there is no cash in jobs", or words that say much the same. I work on Shiply I had zero work for my high Top van But I use estate car and did manage odd job 3 in total and dead miles back.. People on my platform are divided 3 ways A low price jobs, B medium price jobs and C good price jobs.. My usual delivery is solo jobs and very occasionally I can double up. I have odd regular customer, and I did get a few jobs from a place 70 miles from home in Monmouth already packaged and fork lifted on van and this last year I saw no jobs from there and the same from local auction house within 20 miles of home.. I was looking over my years on this platform and I wouldn't call myself full time or part time even, its was pretty dead in fairness..29 months zero work, partly down too poor health.. Enjoy driving and getting out for one or more days a week to re-charge my human battery as it runs on Zero energy.. Career wise I've tried courier work since 2000 and I've never had the greatest luck.. Personal thoughts with the CX your never guaranteed any work yet the "Sales Guy" said On this day I could have my pick of 154 jobs in South Wales ..But that day I was out in Derbyshire area.. Just collecting one job and giving a value seems a poor way to earn much, yet if there was a 3 or 4 deliveries going on a route /within route I could see it challenging and worthwhile and in some ways offering the collection addresses are far better rate. Imagine there was 3 small boxes and there was 4 of the same and each job was going to addresses 12 miles apart from each other how frustrating.. So 4 different van and 4 couriers doing there individual paperwork and then the company doing extra admin to make each PLC there cash.. So I do hope this year will refresh and every courier will do well.. My final thought is Keeping my vehicle in a profit rather than a loss..by this Id rather have two jobs at 50p each a mile and if I am lucky a 3rd job at 75p a mile and if I end up in Swindon get a £40 quid job back to Cardiff.. I think my pence per every mile should be at least 80p. Regards TJ

Bitter sweet to watch. Brings back wonderful happy memories of a less unpleasant world. My late father worked at Banner Lane from as far back as I can remember (mid 1960's) all the way up to when he took voluntary redundancy in 1980-81. I recall him saying, "It's the best thing to do Son, it's going downhill now." , he was a Super Intendant when he left. Many pleasant childhood memories of M.F. Social Club on Saturday nights too which was just a few minutes walk away at the end of Broad Lane. Me and Dad also went there during the week to play snooker in the evenings with uncles and cousins. The factory took up over half the length of Banner Lane which is quite a long road and so many people worked there! So so sad that it went the same way as all the other vehicle manufacturers in Coventry, which itself was like the Detroit of the U.K. Thank you for posting.
