This song became incredibly significant and poignant to me when my best friend, my mother, passed away in 1994 at the way too young age of 54. I'm now 56. It's weird to think that, at this point, I've lived longer than she has. So this song has a different meaning to me since her passing, it makes me introspective and reminds me just how deeply I miss her and her laughter and her unconditional love and friendship, almost 30 years ago now. Any time I've lost a pet, this song calls out to me. And I play it. It's theraputic for my grief. I just had to put my doggie best friend to sleep an hour ago. Like my mom, she was still so very full of life and didn't want to go at all. Still tail wagging and happy and smiling just minutes before it was time. She wanted to go outside again, her favorite place to be, but I couldn't allow her this time. Also, and just like with my mom, cancer has zero effs to give what anyone wants. Be nice to one another, people. Let go of the ridiculous feelings you harbor towards anyone - ANYONE - let them live their best life, and be sure you only focus on you, and living YOUR best life, while you can. We are often gone too soon. Don't waste it by burdening yourself with judgement and hatred towards anyone. Why are you wasting all of your valuable and most-precious resource you have in life, telling others how to think or feel or behave, just for your own comfort? Anything they do doesn't affect your life at all. Live your life. Let them live theirs. Regain the happiness you had for yourself not too long ago. Promise yourself that you will try. Peace.
