I was 5 years old during thos season. I started watching the Rams because I loved how the crowd could cheer Bruuuuuuuce when he caught a pass, I loved Marshall Faulk and I loved the the Blue and Gold went good together.

Marshall Faulk runs through the defense like someone is controlling a joystick against the computer on the EASY setting!

In terms of explosive plays both offensively and defensively, only one team compares in NFL history to the 1999 Rams and that's the 2009 Saints. The number of very long touchdowns scored by their offense and defense (and special teams) is off the charts
@user-ou3dm6th3xАй бұрын
That has to be demoralizing to be down by 14 before your offense even runs a play.

A fond memory. Nobody knew McVay and the Rams were any good but we heard good things in the Summer but didn't want to believe the hype. Boy did McVay deliver. I love listening to the announcers slowly change their minds each game from "Rams suck" to "respect."

Rams lifer. 1999 vs the Crabcakes and Bengals for me were like, "OK, cool this feels all right." Week 4 vs SF when the Rev went off I was like "Wait this is too easy. What's going on here?"

Now I know why the Rams traded for Matt Stafford. Matt gave them their only win when he was a rookie.

This game cost the Saints a bye in 2011 which was huge because they had to travel to San Fran in the playoffs instead where they lost

1979 “ Original LA” were the “ weakest” . They won with their 3rd + 4th string . They had about 40 injuries that year

You forget in some of these early games in '99 that Warner wasn't even playing in the fourth quarter. He could've been throwing 5 TDs a game in the first half of that season if they had really wanted to. Just up and down the field making defenders look like Keystone cops.

That’s the official that screwed up the a coin toss, then was demoted. To bad MLB doesn’t discipline the umpires when they screw up the easiest calls.

I don’t recall the opponent, but after receiving the opening kickoff, the Rams scored on 4 or 5 plays. The Rams recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff and scored on the 1st play. The opposing team was down 14-0 before their offense could run their 1st play.

Madden when taking about the rams 9-0 game vs the bucs in 1980, “I guarantee you it won’t be that kind of game next Sunday.” 😂 He was right the rams won a shoot out 11-6. 😅

If you look at Faulk’s numbers from 98-01 they were insane and pretty consistent. People tend to forget he was with the colts and played with manning for a year. But his numbers were almost identical all 4 years (long time for RB), 1300 rushing 900 receiving.
