That's really not the point... yes, it came across as dramatic that Piccolo killed his father, but killing the reason for a what-if to exist, killed this series. That's like if you had a what-if with Goku getting SSG early and then you have Vegeta kill off Goku in the Buu Saga or something and Vegeta becomes the protagonist

Should I center the whole what-if about the name of the title? Does he ALWAYS have the Heart Virus? What-if Beerus came to earth early...what do you want me to do, keep him in the story one-shotting everyone the whole time? That would be boring. Another more direct example: What-if Raditz lived...am I REALLY supposed to believe he will survive all of Z/GT/Super? That he wont die even once? let me ask you another question. What would keeping him alive accomplish? he isn't going to turn good, and he's not going to be a good father. No matter HOW you slice it, he ends up dead by the end of this what-if. Either that, or he kills Goku and all of his friends, rulint earth. Or everyone dies to Raditz. Would any of those truly have been better? More surprising? Better then what this is? i dont think so. And that's what's important. And that's why i killed him.

He had 10 pokemon. 3 of them fully evolved Staravia evolved half-way 1 of them dosent evolve 1 of them is a trade evolution 1 is a stone. Leaving 3 pokemon un-evolved. So 40% are fully evolved, 20% can't evolved on his own, 10% us half-way there. Meaning he only didint evolved 30% of his pokemon.

If you think I just gave Ash plot armor then clearly you didint even get 10 minutes into the video. But since you think your so intelligent, let me break it down for you. Obviously in the anime universe these are actual creatures. In that respect, Ash is just fine. However Ash's incompetence is not good writting, it makes him a complete idiot and INCOMPETENT! He wants to join the leauge but dosent know how to enter? He dosent understand that Birds Eat Bugs? He's late for the most inportant day for his life? He dosent understand he has to weaken a pokemon? Having character flaws, or making mistakes is a good thing. If Ash didint understand Flying was weak to rock that's okay. But it's quite obvious Ash never put in the effort to actually accomplish his dreams. And unlike the 90's kids who may not have known about Pokemon, Ash literally lives in the same town as the most famous professor AND in the world of pokemon. His lack of the MOST BASIC knowledge is bad writting.

Ash was never the study type and like i said even the prof. are constantly learning new things about pokemon that havent been discover yet reason trainers was given a pokedex to collect more data on them all this "basic" stuff might not be basic because some bug pokemon would prey on others and have abilities techniques that can help them survive "He doesnt understand you have to weaken a pokemon" bruh the first episode implied he never learnt any of that sht the only thing we knew he love pokemon and wanted to be a pokemon master also making Ash a complete noob was for the audience to grow with him while Ash journey far and become a master which to him being friends with all pokemon plus you dont have to weaken a pokemon all the time some will capture themselves or ask to come with or can be a one throw catch basically to break it down for you Ash only PLAYED with pokemon, he didnt even battle with them until he got his first pokemon so ofc the mf wouldnt know what to do Ash spent his time hanging out with them not fighting and will watch pokemon matches luminoise city zack or w/e did a great video talking about Ash progress so go check that out

being 10 years old is irrelevant. Literally every other trainer his age or younger is aware of how to enter the leauge, and in episode 1 we see him watching a league match. On episode 3 (4? the one where he turns to metapod) he specifically mentions that using 2 Pokémon is against the rules, meaning that he's gone out of his way to learn the rules. To put in another perspective: You don't learn how to play a video game through a tutorial, and THEN how to open the game on steam. did you even watch the episode where Ash's mom told him to go to bed, because it was past his bed time and he would be late? Did you miss the episode where Ash said that it was his dream to be a Pokemon Master? Or that he had a serious rivalry with Gary that he wanted to win? The next two paragraphs only help my argument. "his house to the lab is a mile" "meeting serena at one of *Oak's Camp*" "Ash was *never the study type*" "the first episode implied *he never learnt any of that shit*. In other words: The lab is not far away, he went to Oak's Camps to learn about pokemon, he did not study at all, and he never put in the effort to learn the basics that literally everyone else we meet along the way. He doesn't need to battle with Pokémon to learn. is he no good at studying? Fine! Pick up a book (studying and reading are not the same thing), watch TV, pick up a DVD, ask his mother, ask Proffessor Oak if he can watch his work, everyone in pallet town was cheering for Ash before he left there would be SOMOEONE or SOMETHING he could ask/do to learn this basic stuff. Again, not knowing Steel Resist Fairy is one thing, but birds eating bugs? Electricity beating flying types? We see in the first episode he is well aware of what Pidgey's are. making him a NOOB is good for the writing, at the time atleast. But that dosent change that the knowledge Ash had was too little. To the Pokémon world, Growlithe are German Shepards and Meowth's are House Cats, this is stuff every kid learns growing up. As I mentioned earlier, literally every other kid he meets is a smarter trainer then him and it show's he never put in the effort. Infact you and the show itself proves this: When Ash put in the effort (going on his journey, listening/learning from Brock/Misty) he started doing good (look at the AJ episode where he gets 10 wins in one day). ALL OF THAT aside...regarding my work itself. First off: this is a what-if, it's not that serious. Second off: Again you didin't even watch the first 10 minutes of the video. you say "if ash had the MC plot armor" but that is literally the show, Ash would have died in episode episode 1 alone if it wasn't raining. And in MY WHAT-IF he cant even use his starter as it's type until the third gym. yeah. alot of plot armor I gave him and not the other way around.

May wanted to become a trainer so she can travel she didnt care about it until she found an interest in contest, same with Dawn, Max is an ex. of what a person that study is like, ash was more of an outdoor person he barely study just play with pokemon the competing came after he saw the pokemon league flier, complaining about Ash didnt know how to register is stupid and funny because he only needed his pokedex to register so it not like he had a problem with it, plus again he's was a child, parents usually handle these types of things for their child in sports, the kids watch a match know the rules but some dont know the mechanic behind the scene and the work that go into it. plus, in any event if its your first time the question will be where/ how to register? even as adults........................... Ash mom didnt have no pokemon so how tf she going to teach him, prof oak was mainly research based where the kids play with them and did observation research. none of it was battling and ofc ash knew the rules it shows him watching a match and that's only for kanto, hoenn you can used 2 pokemon which support that he didnt know much about the league nor the world. a kid watching a martial arts match will know the rules but wont know how to register and compete until he do research or someone coach him, plus why you are bringing up Ash's dad he wasnt around nor shown just mentioned also, for the battling when misty was scolding him about the basic of bug and birds, ash mentioned it will work out showing and foreshadowing his think out of the box and defy logic tactics, we can assume he saw a match where the exact same thing happen complaining about that was kind of stupid

I did actually look at the picture on the wiki, and that is a definite possibility for what it’s meant to represent. It also is just as, if not more likely, meant to represent his destruction as Android 20, if only because Android 19 is right next to him in that shot.

@@brianudall7447 Well, if we’re talking about the same scene (the one with his lab on fire), I would say that he was in the base at the time, considering that in (some) sources, it is said he founded the RRA alongside the other leaders, so him having a lab somewhere in there, similar in look to his hidden lab, would make sense, rather than Goku attacking a lab in a random mountain

I’ll be completely honest, I’ve got no idea if we were talking about the same scene. I just looked at Gero’s page on the wiki, found a picture with fire in it under the Super Hero, and assumed that’s what you were talking about. I have no idea whether the thing on fire is meant to be a laboratory or not, I just saw Gero and Android 19 in the same picture with fire in the background and drew my own conclusions. Whether those conclusions are correct is up for debate.

As for if gero survived, I read some of it off of the wiki, and based on the flames in the dbssh intro, he was in the base during the time of the invasion, so he is dead.

That's fair. It was deffinently something I sat on. But I figured that if a old, shivilled Kami is stronger then a youthful King Piccolo, where a Piccolo Jr. With 3 years of solo un-assisted training was twice as strong, I think its believable. Also in dragon ball, offspring and reincarnation tend to have higher potential then they're parent. There may be other reasons too that I havent revealed...
