Nice. I remember this run. (I already said). At 1:31, my friend who has been skiing 40 years longer than me, was perched on that rock saying "I think I see a route for you". As I just started skiing easy diamonds a year ago, I was hoping his suggested route wouldn't end with my brains splattered on a rock. I fell once, but just by leaning into the mountain.

I think the title pulls people in. I was watching A-Basin videos and this was on the side bar. I decided to click it because the title sounded like it would be extreme. I don't think it was a misrepresentation, the video accurately reflected the caption, he just wasn't storming it like I hoped he would.

Few questions about this - To get to Twin Chutes/Back 9 do you start at the top of the merc then hike? Where does the Twin Chutes/Back 9 dump out? Is there a difference between those 2, or are they the same? I know the Windows are right off of the E Chair, but is there a spot after Window 9 that you can hike? Thanks
@samrichardson26412 жыл бұрын
can u answer these same questions now?
@PaulB-ly7nl2 жыл бұрын
@@samrichardson2641 You get off the MERC and take a left. You will see the gate on skiers right. Hike it (20 minutes) all the way until the end. Rip down, and it will eventually take you into the ravine runout that windows uses.

The best runs I have ever had have started with me hoping off falcon superchair and cutting left and following a trucking road through the trees then hoping ontop upper lehman and going back down to falcon. There are so many crazy lumps and humps made by nature that are insane to launch off and ride.

The camera just doesn't show how steep this really is. It really is extremely STEEP!! Great video, thank you for sharing. We get passes here every year. A-Basin is the friendliest resort in Colorado but not for the faint at heart.

It never does if you look down the hill. You have to turn around and look up the hill to get a perspective of how steep the slope is.

@00712877 жыл бұрын
Graham Thalacker there is not much steeper then Abasin. It's simple physics . Steep is steep no mater where you are. Terrain doesn't get much more difficult then what you see in this video.

@timdake3 жыл бұрын
This isn’t a big dick contest. The Hole/ Corbets have a good pucker factor. Targhee is decent, including the drive down from the resort, after the road ices, but Pallivinci/ A-Basin is nothing to sneeze at. Any decent ski area will (should) have a few challenging runs.

the narrow in the trees are alleys - it is not even about how steep it is, but how narrow and technical it gets - true ex-terrain (too much for me :) )

Its not quite as hard as it looks. theres alot of edging involved, try it. 4th alley is best to start
