10 Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things? 11 Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (YHVH, El Shaddai, Adonai, God of Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham). John 3:10-18 19 “There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and [a]fared sumptuously every day. 20 But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21 desiring to be fed with [b]the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented. 26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.’ 27 “Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house, 28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.’ 29 Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’ 30 And he said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ 31 But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’ ” Luke 16:19-31

Way back in 1998 when we were going to move from AZ to NC, we looked at lots of neighborhoods with hi,es way below street level and that exactly was my question since it rains a while lot more in NC than it does in Phoenix where we were mostly flat? A I could see was the raunchy running down the driveway right into the garage door - I never got a real answer! I k is about French drains but I do t think one running completely around the house to the backside would even help - where does the water go back there? The lot and house we live on is quite a bit up from the road, does make it a little slippery when it collects ice or snow but then we don’t go out - and the rain just runs down the street and eventually into a lake!

Funny thing is giant chunks of sandstone work the same. Only difference is that was done 100 uears ago by poor folk making it work and alot stand today. My family home was nearly 160 years old and it had pier foundation but made of brick pillars. Same brick pillars that held up the porch and made the house too.

That's the kind of honesty people NEED when looking for a house. There are so many people out there who lie and say "it's a GREAT place, you'll love it" when they KNOW you're getting a turd sandwich of a house. This level of honesty is awesome.

What?? There are 10,000 other homes in the US exactly like this and they are fine. I own one, in Florida, and it rains all the time. Was built in 2007 and has had no problems with water.

10,000 is a pretty specific number, and compared to all the houses in the US, not a big number at all. I’ve seen houses like this that needed the drains.

@@JD-sl1qs congratulations on the Engineer/Architect degree you received simply by owning one of the woefully under estimated ‘10,000 other homes in the US.’ I know people who own them too. yeah I would definitely put in a french drain like a moat around the house. It looks sort of like the backyard is even lower. I guess the house is on a slope. I would also put in an angled driveway so that the slope is not so steep to go down. I would have looked at that house and said no way.

I have this problem in a few areas around the perimeter of my home. Did you say dirt will help? Is that any dirt that will work? I thought dirt would bring bugs so I have it blocked with a few large rocks in the meantime.
@tinymeanginger6293
@tinymeanginger6293 Ай бұрын
He did say dirt. So we’re having erosion issues at our house, not to the point where we are getting holes, but we’re definitely headed that way. We plan to do a French drain on that side of the house and the dirt we dig out of the trench will be placed up against the house. Once the drain is in we’ll place gravel on top so it will user the water away and keep the dirt in place. Sorry for that long winded response but I was thinking it might be something you could look into and it might solve your problem 😊

A real pro tip would be to have an electrician come before hand and prevent the damage you can see, and the stuff that you cant see. You know how pulling on a power cord from across the room is bad? Now pull it so hard that you rip the plug end off and just gob a new end on there and call it good. Now think about doing that on a 200amp service instead of a tiny little power cord, and thats what you are doing. To fix it right they have to pull that underground out and start from scratch, which will probably cost more than you putting a few pump jacks under the house and standing some poles. Im pretty confident that you aren't that dumb, so you just dont care because you are paid and gone when that issue is being dealt with. So really, you are kinda a DK.
