Hi Austin. The VDI doesn't seem to jump around as much as the the Pro.

I've always wanted to detect west Florida underwater near St. Petersburg. I use to read of over turned ships during hurricanes and rough weather.

Do a little research and look for areas near you old forts , old churches/missionaries , schools...abandoned trails between. Good luck.

They are waterproof without the cap. The cap is more for dust and dirt build up. Salt water may cause some corrosion with cap

I watched AquaChigger still do. I met him once at Garrett hunt. I met Jocelyn Elizabeth there also. Al that being said I bought a Garrett AT Pro. That is the detector I have used for all these years and have been happy with it. I have used it on the beach. Salt water and dry sand and have found a lot of good targets. It’s not up with the new machines but I have been happy with it. Well I will leave it at that. More words than I’ve spoken in fifty years 27:54

I am not sure what beach you went to but you really need to go to a beach with the biggest parking lot you can find! Or resorts and hotels. You are pissing I to the wind with those condos behind you! You know it’s all about population density! And why wouldn’t you use the D2 in the water it is 20 times more capable than machine you are struggling with! Buy a pair of bone conductors and start water hunting properly!

I'm hoping to take my new legend for the first time this weekend and this video is interesting as this will be my first real detector and I may have a little advantage as I live in Wales UK and apparently the temperature of the water effects the salinity and so therefore effect's conductivity, I can't wait

Detecting is the goal. Finding is just gravy!
