More like Bobby Kersee 3:16 says, "I've been doping my athletes since the 1980s and haven't been caught yet..." I mean, Sydney went from just barely beathing Delilah Mohammed, the previous record holder, to beating Delilah Mohammed by more than 30/40 meters less than 2 years later... I mean, she demolishes the world record, then disappears from competition for almost 2 years with a phantom injury nobody knew any details of, same time missing the world champs, as well as no records of any treatment being delivered for any injury during the time. Then comes back and beats 200m and 400m specialists in their own events by a considerable margin in her season opener race after no competitive racing for 2 years... You do the math... By the way, did I forget to mention bob Kersee was also Flojo's coach for most of the 80s? hmm, food for thought.

You can tell she's an introvert, a quiet soul. One of the problems in today's hyped-up social media world is that the quiet folks of the world are often misread as unhappy, miserable or unappreciative. I get all the time the question "you don't seem excited" or "are you mad" just because I'm not doing cartwheels or makign a big deal of things. I just feel more comfortable keeping it inside. I feel like that same projection is going on with Sydney, where her demeanor is seen as aloof, unappreciative or too serious. You can tell this means everything to her, that's she's afraid of failure and letting herself and her nation down. I'm glad she found the resolve to dig herself out of that hole and now join the ranks of the greatest Olympians of all-time. A genuine success story.

As a Catholic I didn't understand what she meant with her "not having anything to offer." Could anyone explain it to me please? Just wanna know what she means! May be a difference in beliefs but didn't God give us gifts, even if it's just the ability to walk or run, and we can use those to help others and build a strong and loving community? So why would she have nothing to offer? Because to her, it all belongs to him and she doesn't have any power over what she does?
@muffindolphindaphnee17 күн бұрын
I guess for me, God gave us free will. And it does take our trying our best and acting on things to achieve things, though ultimately we don't have a say in what happens. But we still have something to offer I think... haha would appreciate your guys' perspectives!
@zariachanel16 күн бұрын
@@muffindolphindaphnee I think you touched on it on the first part of your last question. Though faith without works is dead, God is the supplier of everything. Everything good comes from Him, which means even our faith in Him He gave to us. So we don’t have anything to offer God because everything we have He gave to us in the first place. Therefore we should be good stewards over our gifts, responsibilities, roles, etc. which ultimately like she said gives Him glory. But there’s peace in knowing we don’t and actually can’t do anything to earn God’s approval or satisfaction or love. He loves us simply bc He wants to and He’s good, and out of our love for Him we should do our best to please Him. Does this make sense?

She's successful MOSTLY because of 1) superior genetics, 2) desire to win and be the best 3) hard work, 4) good social support, 5) good coaching, 6) good training facilities, 7) high standards, 8) good nutrition Belief in one particular deity isn't a prerequisite for success, as there are atheists, agnostics, and polytheists who succeed at the highest levels in all facets of life.

God gives us free will but also scripts out our lives. So hypocrisy is a constant.
