Oh, look, some childless, self-centered liberals in a multi-million-dollar modern house. 🤰

I am sorry about the mean-spirited comments. It's a beautiful property and you have built beautiful spaces that enable you to share it generously with others.

The title says accidentally built... could you tell me how that is possible? This video post and interview deserve criticism, Dwell should do better.

There’s nothing more “organic” than clearly having unlimited resources and seemingly no building restrictions.

Thanks so much for letting us see your home - it is like a live-in sculpture that connects you to nature while protecting you from the elements. Truly beautiful and not the least ostentatious. I am envious!

The second I heard that they were an architect/ artist gay couple who approached design with their Dogs in mind I just knew this was going to be a top notch home.

Could 100% live here! What would this cost to build in Indiana?

Wow that's just my cup of tea - so well composed. I thing it fits in perfectly within the Sea Ranch spirit. I love the "cheap" or chic! pallet of materials and the use of space. I'd move in right away...

This is why Dwell isn't a good magazine. Its all surface. Nothing about this video was insightful or informing. There were no plans or information, it was just shots of them playing with a fancy bookshelf. They didn't even illustrate the problem (was there one?) and how it was solved, it just seemed like they had extra money so they bought the neighbourhing apartment, took a housing unit off the market and now have a bonus lounge. If there is a larger or better story, then it is your job to tell it Dwell, not just show design porn.

That's probably exactly what the project is... Rich people architecture... to then complain that the City wont allow them to double their million dollar apartment. And that's what Dwell has always been showcasing, I'm not sure what else you expect from them... if you look at their website/magazines, its mostly pictures with a little paragraph explaining a brief history of the project.

Fair. I’m not sure what our take away was supposed to be? Did this make us better spatial designers? Did it offer inspiration? Nope.

You all need to get the monkey playing cymbals removed from your head because it's blocking the signal to your brain, BUT the explanation is 'A wall unifies two spaces.' Get your eyes tested, too.

Would love to have seen before and after floor plans to understand how they combined with the studio unit. 🤔 The bookcases separate the two units, yes, but it was difficult to understand the layout exactly.
