Does a highways authority put the red side of the road marker posts out during snow season, and is there a specific spacing based on the road designation or speed limit? Other query is why do some commercial vehicles have green licence plates? Interesting to see what vehicles are driven on your roads, did not expect to see American Dodge. I am in England and we do not get much snow these days.

The authoritys put's up the markers before snow season. They come in red or black plastic, or in bamboo. The important bit is the reflective tape on the top. Its used for the plowtruck to see the road in the dark. 50meter between on straights and 30meter in curves. The green plates means its max 3 seats, and only front steats, they are cheaper than a 5 seater because of lower taxes. Often used by companys but everybody can buy them. The price difference can be big, like 10.000euro big for some cars....

I do love the roads in Europe. I'm in the UK and did a 2 week road trip around various EU countries with some friends on bikes. I hired a car and drive that. Such nice roads to drive on.
