Depends on the itinerary. We prefer to do it on a sea day. However, we have done it on a port day as well and it turned out just fine

I'm taking my first Halloween Cruise in the first week of October of next year on the Carnival Celebration. My understanding is that they do these type of things on every cruise in October correct? And would you say it's worth bringing two different costumes, 1 for the party and 1 for the contest?

Yes, they have Halloween events all month long. And, yes! With all the different events, you will have plenty of chances to wear a 2nd costume! Thanks for watching!
