Massey balers like to be run around the pto speed so if you are having trouble with the knotters working it might be that your rpms are too low.
@essickfarms7585Ай бұрын
I’ve started running it at faster Rpms with the JD 55 but it still likes a slower ground speed.its a good baler. Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it.

Bang those nails in at a diagonal they’ll hold better than straight. Or if you have a drill bit just slightly thinner than the screws so you don’t risk splitting the wood with a screw use screws.

Ive had a welger RP12 baler for 31 years, but after making nearly 40,000 silage bales it was worn out. Ive now got a welger/ Lely RP235 with wide pick-up reel ,net tie and crop chopping knives, 20 years younger and twice as fast baling !!

So the green filter was original, I thought you’re supposed to wait till 100 hours for the first service for the break in? I just get the motor oil in quarts it’s so much easier to deal with to me
@essickfarms75852 ай бұрын
Both filters are original. The book said to change it at 10 hours. The oil was black needed to be changed for sure. The gallon oil was on sale 😀 thanks for the comment I appreciate it.

what I have is a pine tree that kind of snapped off about six feet from the ground and is now at an angle. I'm not sure whether to try to cut the part below where it snapped off as I'm not sure where that broken part that's being held up will jump. It would be a about a foot in diameter or bigger.

Now that you have been using this a while do you know how much it will hold?
@essickfarms75855 ай бұрын
I’ve never filled it all the way up I usually buy 10 bags of corn and four bags of supplements so that’s 700 pounds and it fills up just above the first hole on the front of the bin. I’d guess it’ll hold around 1800 lbs maybe 2000 . Still the best thing I’ve built on the farm. Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it.
@tonyoffermans36766 ай бұрын
Best way is to start at the top until half way through and then work around to the bottom with just the tip borrowed in the wood, and then cut from beneath. Works everytime. Just remember to cut the compressed wood first always. If you have a monster saw, you can also cut straight towards the ground, just like that, to make rest of the tree fall. And make sure you don't use a dull chain like in this video. Saves you a lot of problems.
@FredFlintstone216 ай бұрын
Thanks for making this video. The tree im cutting down is massive with 2 huge branches up high, going different directions, one of em is in the ground. I have it cut mostly through near the base but its completely hung up. I tried come-along pulls in 3 different spots with no success. If the wind doesn't take it down this week, im going to finish it off with a polesaw near the trunk so when it goes i wont be near it

Can you feed it on a month old pig?
@essickfarms75856 ай бұрын
They should. You could mix some soaked corn in with what you are feeding them now and see if they eat it. Plus, I’ve found it’s always a good idea to mix the feed before you switch to another type so their stomachs get used to it. Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it.

What was the reason for not spreading fertilizer to help the seed to germinate?
@essickfarms75857 ай бұрын
Fertilizer would have worked, but I feel like if I use it one time I’ll have to keep using to keep the grass growing and I’d rather find ways to build up the soil to grow grass on its own. I will be putting lime out. Thanks for commenting I appreciate it.
@Iceman-Iceman7 ай бұрын
@@essickfarms7585 Due to our heavy, deep clay soil fertilizing is a must, whether it is natural or chemical to get a fresh stand of grass, even with proper amount of rainfall, liming and soil prep Subsoiling or ripping a must unless you have a lot of rocks then core aeration every year due to compaction then fertilizing afterwards Third generation farmer on a 100 acre farm, with cattle up around a rotation of 40, we are able to keep grass green for 9 to 10 months per year depending on weather 11 months On our crops fertilizer natural or chemical at planting, we try natural if available, some of our residential neighbors might have an issue with the smell, however they love fresh vegetables and fruit
