if that parent fears that the money will ruin the family, I'd wager he/she has seen signs that make him believe that.

That seems to be everyone's answer to everything when they don't like their parents these days. You have absolutely zero context for these people's relationship other than the parents being concerned about spoiling their children.

That's the first thing we all have to learn, in order to deal with higher level math, just about any math, really! -Simplify and go from there.. But of course spot-on with this universality of simplifying, otherwise, as far as I'm concerned, you're just doing complexity to be baffling, confusing. And makes me think there's some undisclosed agenda afoot which benefits from such baffling, such as a grandiose flimflam..

Have you ever actually worked on a job? that's definitely not how it works. meritoriousness is nice, but it's not what makes the world go around. It's not about you as an individual, it's about how well you fit into the team. Otherwise, we would all be working in companies consisting of only one person.

This guest's academic work has advocated for "bail reform." Many jurisdictions have implemented these ideas, but how have those ideas worked out? Been to a large US city lately? One of the great dysfunctions of our society is the complete lack of professional and reputational accountability for disastrous ideas and decision making.

It’s exactly that simple. Anyone who gets up and goes to work each day deserves respect. But obviously working a cash register cannot command the same salary as a surgeon.
