I'm happy you asked. I havent used it in a while but when I used it for the first time in like 3 months I had a problem with the chain becoming to loose and coming partially off the rail. I tightened the bolt to keep the chain taut but it just keeps coming loose. I need to spend more time to figure out why this keeps happening.

I have one of these too. I copied a photo off of google, but I kept to the photo with 18 bricks to the ring. I was impressed with how well it performs as a fire ring, radiating the heat back off the tall wall. It also breathes really well with all the gaps letting the air get to the bottom of the fire. Toss in a few dried pine cones with some split pine and you can light it with a match... I actually use my propane torch from the workshop because, why not?

Brick absorbs water. Holds it. When heated it turns to steam. It looks for a way to escape. If it can’t find it… the brick explodes.

I just wonder if fanning them 'out', while attractive, is as safe as laying them the other way. Also uses more bricks. I want mine close to a fence so this design intrigued me, but if anyone has a thought about, please share!

I wear the 311 Blundstone boots that are the work boot with same look but have a steel cap toe and are for Australian safety standards I have had them since I was a kid for scouts in the late 1900s and still wear them everyday for work they have a better inner soles and they are long lasting the soles wear out but they are also are not very expensive for a work boot in Australia 🇦🇺 I can’t believe American love them too I have only found this out this week and I think it’s great 👍 good videos the red back boots are good also but have a more upright stance with the back of the boot more upright with a higher heel

This is a nice handy saw. Had mine for 4 months, yet last week the c clip which holds washer over chain sleeve popped off and there is no reserve parts for WORX products, so they just replace whole unit and throw out the broken product. Keep receipt, register your product (if you can since their website never shows if it is registered for exte nded 3 year warranty). Have 8 Worx products - like them all but would have chosen differently if I knew did not have reserve parts. Bad policy.

*Thank you so much for a great video! Straight forward to the point, and very informative! I reached out to Blundstone in the past, and they neglected entirely to tell me if it was nubuck or not lol 😅!! They only said "distressed leather", and it made me further confused! I suppose nubuck is distressed leather right? I read nubuck is a variation of distressed leather. If you know, please let me know. But good to know that my women's classics Chelsea boots in Rustic Black are indeed nubuck! They also suggested me that I buy their Blundstone rustic renovating cream. I'm glad I saw this video because I almost added it to my shopping cart (and I'm totally not going to 😅). I knew creams weren't good for nubuck!* *I think I'll go ahead and get my cleaning products for them! This has helped me out greatly! Thanks again!! 😊🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷*

Maybe make it clear for people, that both the fire and bricks at the bottom will become extremely hot, especially if your have some thicker logs going. So no grass left as you have and no children with 2 meters of the bricks. The pull of air at the base will give the effect of a kiln and will take 2 hours to cool down enough after use. I nearly lost a Nabours forest a while back, due to the lower part of a barrel having rusted with a hidden hole, so with these hot dry months every year, be shore to know if it´s ok to burn and have a bucket of water on hand. I was actually so shaken up by my small fire event, that I am still not ok about burning again, plus it´s not good for the climate at all. You are better mulching it to make new soil. Even though my leek caused a small amount of fire to move through the grass and leaves, I was soon staggered by how much quicker it became and also how it was moving in 3 directions. I worked it out in my head, the time it would take to pull a hose over against my increasing heart beat, I watched it for 3 seconds and that was enough to ring the fire department. Lucky I did too, as it gained speed and was now spreading in all directions. The fire was put out just as it reached the rise and the dense dry forest and had luckily gone around my wood shed leaving 20 cm only! My house (wooden) was also saved, due to the wind direction that was different on that day. So I speak with a heavy heart, heed my warning, First clear the ground properly , not leaving grass as you have. Secondly, lay a thin layer of gravel as a base, to stop weeds growing when not in use and also think about leaving at least 3 meters from any structures. Finally, try leaving one stone/brick with a bigger hole towards the normal wind direction, this will help with cleaning and pocking the ash to let air in Thanks for your video.

Last week bought Blundstones 510(cost me about 110$, 450 NIS), and they are nice, though a little bit stiff, so I take time on breaking them. Put some thin sole, so the boots now are more tight and comfortable. Before that I bought Redback, but unfortunately the size was too small(my mistake, I know), so I don't really able to compare them. Now it's summer, and I can't wait for the winter, to check how they deal with the rain.
@husbandhood
@husbandhood 11 ай бұрын
After about a year the water resistance will wear off from the leather. You should still waterproof them with a spray. it will protect them from stains and keep them dry. Where did you get for 450nis?

This is cool and all, but doing the math, it's about $800 in firebricks. Just so everyone knows we are still talking about a much larger financial investment vs. the average store bought firepit (of course "stores" will take how ever much money you want to give them for one).
@husbandhood
@husbandhood Жыл бұрын
I didnt use fire bricks to make my pit and I dont plan on using them in the future. You really only need the firebricks if the the fire is super hot and the bricks are fully exposed to the flames. With my pit based on the design only the edges were touching the flames and not enough heat to cause them to explode. I added a disclaimer in the description and pinned the comment based on other peoples comments. Also from a legal perspective having a disclaimer is suggested.

Not being cemented the bricks let in fresh air giving you a faster but cleaner burn. Leave out about 3 bricks on the bottom layer, left, (right, back center), and you've got a hotter cooking pit. Block off the holes with bricks when not needed & conserve fuel. Rig a grid or grocery cart grill top & you're good to go. If needed for heat the bricks retain heat into the night. Nice, efficient job flexible in purpose.
