Hi, regarding the orange one: I can't quite see the shape. But there was a designer in Munich called Jean Beck. He made designs in very vibrant colors at a time, that the art nouveau still was going. He had several huts delivering the glass to him and his atelier in Munich added the "Schwarzlotmalerei". Later on a lot of others copied that as well. He was affiliated with Regenhütte and Schliersee Hütte in eastern Bavaria. Maybe this was done or inspired by him. But that is just a guess.

Like the glass mugs with moulding to the body. Not a glass expert but can say that 18th century silver mugs tend to get slightly taller and narrower towards the end of the century and the earlier ones tend to have slightly straighter sides not quite so bulbous....just a thought, not sure if the glass examples conform to that.

But we had the Tudors and Stuart’s, and Gustavia I rampaging through Europe. The Huguenots brought wald glass to England, Elizabeth banned the use of wood in glass making, causing a switch to coal, causing mass coal mining helping to kick off the Industrial Revolution. Verzeselisi (can’t remember how to spell it) came to Elizabethan England under pain of death from the Venetians and taught us how to make clear glass, and at the end of that period George Ravenscroft invented Leaded glass. The Venetians also stopped the Caliphate from owning the Mediterranean at the Battle of Lepanto. It was all going on.

I like the wine glasses. Is it safe to drink from uranium glass? I ordered a uranium wine glass online to use for drinking but I’m hearing from other people not to use.
@lovedecanters789124 күн бұрын
I think it’s pretty safe. The amount of uranium needed is small, and the proportion of the which that is actually radio active is tiny. I don’t recommend grinding it into power and eating it, but the lead would probably get first in that instance. I have seen a talk on it, and I can’t remember the exact details as it was a long time ago, but there are lots of background sources of radiation that are worse for you.

The air twist does not break into the bottom of the glass. The shape of the bowl is classic mid 18th century shape, and the quality of the glass making is consistent with that too.
