I almost did the same exact thing. After realizing I’d be spending at least $400 in material, the amount of time it take, and how heavy diy ones are I’ll happily spend $600 more on some black Rieco jacks lol Great build though!

Can you tell me if your HF tripod screw jacks had enough strength to raise your camper without any issues? I was going to buy 4 of them and use them to raise my camper off my truck. Thank you. Ted 15:33

@@RedBeerdBuilds I built a slide in camper two years ago and I made the almost same set up as you. I used HF 10,000 lb trailer dolly’s and welded them to their car dolly’s and I can roll my camper on to my truck myself on concrete and position it exactly were I need it on my truck and lower it down in place. I incorporated every option available into an 8’ box and, entry door opens to the inside as opposed to swinging out. Left my end gate on and. Lift it up with a strap and lock my end gate. I don’t want to ever be trapped on the inside for any reason. I have a one ton F350 crew cab long box with single rear wheels I bought brand new and I can’t even notice my 2500 pound home built. You did a nice job on yours and, I can tell your a sharp young man who can get R done. I thought about those Tripod jacks along time ago. I live in NW Arkansas and in SW Iowa and, I’d like to be able to lift it off in both locations if I need to. Less than 400.00 bucks to jack it up is nothing compared to what they try and rob you for electric jacks. No way. Ted

Looks so good on the truck. Wow that looked like a tight fit to get out of the garage tho! Did you know it was going to be that close or was it just lucky you were able to pull out without scraping?
@RedBeerdBuildsАй бұрын
I did know. It had been on the truck once for a test fit, I have air down the tires to 18psi to get it out. And the fan touches the garage seal

Okay I'm glad someone explain that because that completely went over my head, I was in the same page of saying you can just buy the windshield washer fluid that doesn't freeze. So there's a tablet that dissolves in water and you can use it as window washing fluid? Yeah I'm on the team of just let's go by the regular gallon jug of windshield washer fluid and add to the pollution. Yep I'm the bad guy, and I'm still okay with that...😂

Tip: turn on your exhaust fan when lowering with windows zipped closed. That will help pull in the canvas. I see you have bungies around it too. Good to go. Nice job. I like the jack idea rather than 3 thousand (probably more) for a set of factory type.

Sweet. I can't wait to see your finished product. I'm curious what type of panels you used for insulation and the R Value? I have a Moonlander topper camper and I'd like to insulated as its similar to what you've built minus flip up portion. Thanks for the video again. I've become a subscriber.
@RedBeerdBuilds2 ай бұрын
thanks, I used Sika Rmax Pro Select Polyiso Insulation Board. its r6 with 1 inch, im also using a upholstered panel over the walls that has roughly an r2 value. that being said its a canvas tent. I would need an insulated cover over the tent material for real insulation.

No one ever gets the seat right when people do these builds( and I appreciate everyone that does get done their efforts give me a positive feeling which is worth something)but not one has had the seat done correctly they don't look right or look like they function properly and they don't look comfortable. When a motorcycle seat isn't done properly it really detracts from the bike overall.
@RedBeerdBuilds3 ай бұрын
Are you saying you don’t like the seat?
@RedBeerdBuilds3 ай бұрын
I think that’s 100% personal preference. I like minimal seats. I think over sized seats look bad. I have 3+ inches of foam. It’s not uncomfortable. I wouldn’t ride the bike on a road trip. But it’s not made for that.
