have you thought about adding a narrow coil around where the foot joins the bowl?

Hi there...I've never added coils to my joins, so I likely will not do it for this project unless I have issues at the base. I use my needle tool to draw down clay from the other piece to smooth over the attachment (if that makes sense), so it's like a built-in coil. I will keep you updated after it's fired! It says I can find the full project on IG, I don’t usually go on IG, but I did go to find the project, did not find it. Only saw rolling double texture. I wish you had everything here on KZfaq. I can’t find anything on IG. Don’t like IG. 😞

Sorry you had trouble on IG. The prep for the bowl is on our page @alexandriapotterytools with the on-screen title "Full Pedestal Bowl Assembly On KZfaq." It's the 4th reel in at the time of this comment. I can post that here too...but the format will be off because it was filmed for IG.

🥺 I just had hand surgery this past Monday and can’t make anything for awhile. I sooo want this jig, but it will have to wait……sadness. However, when I am able to make pottery again, will it be possible to add an extender (I already have one) to make it about an inch taller? Thanks

I love this idea! Thank you for sharing. This was a great use of your forms. I have several of your forms and have actually used one of the forms for something other than what it was originally designed for. Love the shark fin by the way. Wasn’t sure if it would be any different from other tools I have but I really find it to be a game changer for my work ❤. Thanks again for sharing your creativity.

Thanks for your input friend. We have many people who cannot throw a level chuck, do not want to store greenware, have cracked their bisqued chuck or want the automatic centering function:) We know our tools aren't for everyone and that's ok!

@@alexandriapottery I work out of a studio in an art school. If I worked with bisqued chucks it would just be one mor heavy thing to bring back and store in my cubby for the term with risk of breakage. This looks like a useful, lightweight tool to add to my toolbox!

Hi! You can use the template for whichever size you need and just add the 2, 2.5 or 3" on to the top.

I use vinegar + my clay body to create a slip. Or sometimes I use just plain vinegar. Both create a really great “glue” for attaching. I’m glad you’re inspired! Thanks for stopping by!
