Nearly three years after my last comment, this video has now helped me to magically fix my Flex 3 a second time. It had started the fan blasting again and also lost ability to use the hardware keyboard, touchpad, or wifi adapter. I only had access to the touchscreen interface. Removing the battery for a while and then holding the power button in (not sure if that part is needed) cleared whatever problem it was having. The laptop now works as normal again.

How you get that keyboard out? Got no manual yet. Okay, found out. But there is a tiny problem. There is no video output. Sure it can be a network only laptop, but I prefer the video chip working. Far easier. What did that previous owner DO to it?!

Note that you may need a little magnetized screwdriver to get the screws back in, and to get the case to go back on, press "in the middle at the bottom with thumbs" while you push up on it...also if your laptop boots only to "system diagnostics" see my answer on superuser for that issue
