i got the fine over the ef for jinhao and it's pleasant, inked it a week ago, forgot to fully cap it and it's still not dry, kinda like preppy, got it for 4$ with an ink bottle and the ink is really nice too

Have heard people complain the clip is skewed to one side - congrats to Pilot who did that first to fit fingers better and congrats Moonman / Majohn for noting one of the most subtle obscure details of the VP

Doodlebud I need some wisdom, I already have some fountain pens (asvine v126, T1, wing sung 630, jonhao 6019, lamy safary) all of them around 20-30 usd, I want to buy a e95s for around 90 usd but I don't know if is worth it to spend that money in 1 pen or 3 pens of 30$, like the P20, Hongian N12 and p136 for example. Any recomendation?

Faber Castell fountain pens are criminally underrated, they're probably the best beginner pens out there, their nibs are just perfect. Regarding the bottomless cartridge it's not only FC, last year I bought a couple of Schneider and Divine Design pens and the first thing I noticed on both was that odd cartridge, the seller told me they come like that and they didn't know why 😵‍💫

The fact that theres ogham markings on the leather pouch makes me so happy

One of the old (1990s) Delta that this sort of looks like is a screw to post. One of my favorite pens.

From then nice pens but just not for me, Kaweco, Twisby eco, Live in you, metropolitan, Esterbrook, Momemtno zero, totally tuned with you, yes overall they are good pens, but just not for me. From the ones you classified as almost good, The Faber Castel I couldn´t say as from the hexagonal shape I know I wouldn´t like her so never bought one, Same for the Rembrant I don´t know either as I don´t own one, the Diplomat I really want one, love the aesthetics of her, the Montegrappa can say as don´t own one also, she looks beautiful indeed but still have other in line first. From the trash pens can´t talk about the first Moonman, never seen her, have other Moonman I love thou, the Stilograph not even talking about it, same problem with me, it´s just resting along a bunch of other pens who are nice looking, but just to look at, whatever it was the knockoff of te Curidas it just looks cheap form here, don´t own one, don´t want one. The last one the colors are just off for me. As for the Omas, same problem as the Faber Castel, don´t like the hexagonal shape.

4:22 Most unexpected glimpse of "how ink gets everywhere" I've seen in awhile.. LOL

Growing up in Germany, in elementary school in the 1980s, literally everyone had the LAMY abc in order to learn how to write. It’s been a while, but I seem to remember that it came with a relatively fine nib. At some point, usually after elementary school, pretty much everyone switched over to a LAMY Safari and typically a broader nib, I guess most kids had an M-nib. Nowadays, I guess the use of fountain pens has somewhat declined in schools. I guess Germany was always a bit of an exception in that regard. In most other countries it was always more commonplace to use ball pens. We had to use fountain pens though. I guess the thinking was that it improves your writing. Though AFAIK, those days are gone now in Germany as well, though many parents still prefer their kids to learn how to write with fountain pens. And the Safari is probably still the go to product in schools.

I have a few Nahvalurs, 2 Schuylkills & a Horizon & love them! I only wish that they offered their nibs in extra fine. Although I would probably be tempted to buy more & that would probably be bad... 😂 😂 😂

Threw a flyer $10-er at a 82 with a fude nib. I'm honestly surprised at how enjoyable it is to use.

I have one Kaweco Sport already. I never felt the need to buy a second one, let alone start a collection of them. It's a neat little pen, with the emphasis on the "little". As for the piston version, again, it's a nice little pen but not cheap. I would save that money to invest in a larger pen. But, that's what makes the fountain pen hobby great; to each their own.

I don't have 5 pens, but if I had to choose to whittle my collection down to 1 pen, I would probably choose the Jinhao in my collection. Not because it writes particularly well or anything, I have better pens, but because it was a hand me down from my mom. Other than the sentimental value, my pick would be the TWSBI Eco. I used that all throughout university, including on exams. It's cheap enough where I don't feel too bad about breaking it, but also it's a reminder for me to not put too much pressure on the paper because if I do break it in the middle of the exam, I have no writing implements left.

Bought mine recently. Same, didn't work and also it weighs like a tons of bricks. I don't think it is usable. Put the nib into Majohn x1, works really good.

It looks like they have changed the design if these pens lately. On Ali, i see the p138 now has a riveted clip. Looks interesting!

Neo Slim is - second time I see that kind of curved nib. First was Schneider Easy Navy. It's best position for writing was strictly vertical. Didn't suit me at all but it should be rather comfortable for a persin with long fingernails. My ex wife prefers close to vertical pen grip. Wonder if that rule also works for Neo Slim?

If only they made just a basic body colour in black or dark blue, that P139 in the Visconti colour scheme as seen in the background would be a special.

Have you tried the Magna Carta 1000? Does it also have the same QC issues?

FC nibs are the best.

For what it’s worth, Hongdian has had a couple of pens with ebonite feeds.
