1987 - “Girlfriend in a Coma” is an AIDS song. It’s a response to the crisis that took the lives and broke the hearts of so many friends and lovers - the holocaust of the 1980s (Rolling Stones Magazine). The lyrics (there were times when I could have murdered her/stranged her), could also be a sardonic attempt to shine light on violence against women at the hands of thier men. Anybody else ever think that?

Nick mason was very lucky he was in the Wright place at the time, but he isn't a good drummer, and I have been a Floyd fan for 45 years,

Saw them at red rocks in June 1983 open for bow wow wow and the english best. At 13, had no clue who they were...but Stipes crooning voice belting this along w several others grabbed my attention as well as many others. They were well on their way to major fame, sure was epic to jump on for the rest journey w millions of others.

It is so weird and also cool how many lead singers on Letterman shake hands like they have never experienced human contact before.

This song was the theme intro of the #CHARMED🧙♀️🧙🏻♀️🧙🏼♀️ show. I think it was on the network #CW or #WB back in the day around the early 21st century. But now it's the year 2020 and it is on #TNT. It brings back fond memories! #Morrissey #JohnnyMarr #HowSoonIsNow #TheSmiths
