We have a Kia E Niro and it goes 400km on a 66kw battery, just great and keeps going now after 4 years!

We agree. Batteries still aren't at "price parity" with ICE engines, but they're getting closer than they were before, enabling automakers to lower prices for consumers compared to say six years ago, and hopefully that will only get better.

@DiscoverEV I was lead to believe that batteries needed to be below $100? As far as I know they are at around $47

@DiscoverEV I can't see the previous messages, so my guess is that you are asking about battery prices? CATL and BYD being the world's biggest suppliers , their rates are in various publications, also The Electric Viking, FutureAZA and Next Big Future. However, Tony Seba had already correctly predicted the rate of fall in price.

It's always in July... It will take place from 10th-13th July next year. There's also Goodwood Revival which is worth a visit - this year it's 6-8 September.

@DiscoverEV As an enthusiast I have had to patch together The Electric Viking, EVM and Definitely not a Guru. Just to understand EV battery life, the cost of running an EV and where to find an EV that is truly affordable. No one channel has all the real information. Especially, no UK channel that focuses on UK issues. Whilst you can't make a living out of just bringing the facts and I understand a bit of bling is good. I do think that there is room for a channel with the right name, to help people in the UK discover the affordable truth. As channels like The MacMaster are able to fund themselves just by spreading nonsense and rumours.

True, but lots of EV’s now coming between £20k and £30k. That’s the same price as ICE hatches, but agree still too expensive for the majority of buyers.

Louise has 4 kids, Ben has 3, plus elderly parents who aren’t able to drive. So yes, WE need them. But you are right, the population is reducing.

This may be true, but there are people with blended families that need that kind of space, or those that lift share with school runs/clubs and need the space, and also consumer lifestyles have changed since Covid. More people are increasing focus on outdoor activities, travel, and recreational pursuits - all of these factors drive demand for MPVs.

Sad but true: many of us Brits seem to think everything foreign should be pronounced as though it were French. Hence 'vell-os' for 'vell-o-chay' (here); 'porsh' for 'por-shuh' (almost every car show); and, in far too many Italian restaurants, 'broo-shetta' for 'broo-sketta'. And don't get me started on how even the doctors mangled Clostridium difficile (it should be 'dee-fee-kee-lay', not 'diff-iss-eel'). Still, it's not a bad world if this is the worst problem in it (spoiler: it isn't). Pedants unite! :-)

Unfortunately no-one was allowed into it, and of course we asked, but we could see in. It was great, exactly as you would expect.

What a shame. But i can imagine it being pretty epic. Does the range take a knock for performance?

Likely it will. But nothing confirmed yet. It will be worth the sacrifice though 😉
