Reminder windows (DWM proccess) already uses around 768mb - 1gb of Vram depending on what you do. I have the 16GB version and cyberpunk with the new textures pack uses around 14gb vram. Gonna be impossible on the 8gb version. Also, i can use photoshop - video edit - maybe run a small LLM and game at the same time. while on the 8gb version, you are forced to reboot the computer and only run the game to save as much vram..

if a game needs more on rt then the nvidia gpu have a +, but if the game needs not more as good gpu then the rx a enough.

I dont know, i'm not an expert, but in 2024 the 2080ti is absolutely the card of choice for these resolutions.. €250 gets you a ROG Strix 2080ti, what handles a sustained 2085Mhz boost stable (at around 58-60c), and about +400-500 on the memory, whitch brings it to 3080 territory performance wise (see gaming benchmarks). A 3080 is still about double the money (or more), and for 1080p is an absolute overkill (so as the 2080ti for that matter), so there is no point in giving out extra money for nothing, unless you want a 4080, and play at 4k. My opinion right now is that for 1080p get a 2080ti for cheap, and upgrade your cpu (the faster, the better), and you will get a massive performance boost on top of the absolutely stellar GPU performance you allready get with the 2080ti. A very good example is my old Ryzen 7, its way too slow, limiting the gpu to about 75-80% utilization, even in benchmarks. So the faster the CPU, the more frames the GPU gets to render, simple as that. When i OC'd the CPU, i instantly got another few FPS in games, so it proved my point, but my Ryzen is not a good overclocker, so if i want better speeds then its time to upgrade it. I will be happy when i see 100% utilization on both the CPU and GPU sides, that means that i came to the limit of my system, and not only the limit of just one component that holds the others back 🥂

Don't get the 4060 Ti 16GB for gaming. Get it for generative AI (or Diablo 4 at 4K, lol). That's basically why it exists. It outperforms 3080 at those tasks.

In 5 years I changed 3 Western Digital Green and Blue 1 tb Hdds used in a surveillance system with a low recording rate and every time the electronic part it broken and besides that, the pins on the motherboard plug with plug from the turntables oxidizes. I have 3 retro PCs with Western Digital HDDs from 25, 20 and 15 years ago and they are still perfect.
