$100 bucks for that place is less than Ideal. Spacewise, I have seen places in thailand that just a studio and a bathroom with balcony and no A/C for $45 to $65 bucks. Plus you have all the vendors and beach not to far away with a view. For a $125, you get something WAY better in Malaysia or Thailand. What the appeal here? Even the doors have these big gaps on the bottom. Not really what I would call a place I would pay a hundy for. But thanks for showing us! 🙂

Hi there. Size of land is about 1.5 hectares, and original asking price ~10 years ago was about $35K USD. Prices for land now are all over…depends on location, proximity to utilities/roads, etc…

Hi, I have a question, I”ll be travel to Laos very soon and I was thinking to make my prescription glasses, can you give an idea how much the prescription glasses cost there?
@retire_recharge_roam
@retire_recharge_roam 5 күн бұрын
Great question! I got a new pair of eyeglasses June of last year, and paid 1,830,000 LAK, or ~ $83 USD. That price included the eye exam, frames, and lenses. They'll normally throw in chromatic lenses (darken outside) for free if you like. We went to a popular place in Vientiane (TAIFA)...there's one located inside the Vientiane Center shopping mall. You can get an idea of the experience in this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mdOVesaS3J-8aaM.htmlsi=5jcoacrL39e-3ZEX

@retire_recharge_roam
@retire_recharge_roam 12 күн бұрын
Hi there! Luang Prabang is a great place! I would recommend checking the Facebook groups, since that’s how most networking is done in Lao. Some helpful groups: Luang Prabang Jobs, Teaching Jobs in Laos, Luang Prabang Social. I would check those and post your interest before you travel to Laos. If you’re already on the ground, then just walking up to the schools can also be an effective way to find an opening. Good luck!

Unfortunately not as familiar with LPB area…but there’s a Facebook group for that! Check this one: Expats and Locals Living in Luang Prabang. This time of year you should be able to find decent deals…if you’re willing to be flexible you can try walking around and looking for a place…some of the best deals aren’t available on-line. But if you find that stressful the group may give you some ideas on where to book ahead. I’ve heard Villa Wanika has a seasonal promotion…but there may be others. facebook.com/share/p/egLP5Ln4sfP1sTrb/?mibextid=adzO7l

If I understand correctly, the police group is called Kong Long, กองหลอน in Thai. These group of police have been harassing Thai tourists or threating Thai tourists. Good for him may be its ok for US citizen but Laos is not safe for Thai citizen.
