Can't see the forest for the trees comes to mind. Institutions like yours are lost in the science and numbers and are fighting nature at every step. The goal of science is to understand how the natural world works, somewhere along the line capitalism stepped in and took you down a path of endless data and inputs. Agriculture existed for long enough without inputs and for even longer without manipulative salesmen masquerading as agricultural scientists

i grew up on this farm and my father was the farm manager, interesting to see the new processes in place today, sperm samples were taken using a cow and an artifical vagina, i remember this being done and it was a very stressful time of the year

I still cannot figure out how this helps me in any fashion. I can see the cattle... I can read the tag. How can this be implemented to actually benefit me? It seems that it does nothing more than I can do with a pencil and a pocket notebook. At a MUCH higher cost.

Another excellent video from FAS which should go a long way to helping farmers understand the importance of animal health & welfare in the mind of the public as well of course for our livestock. So glad that Brian & the family continue to innovate.

Security Theater: Definition: Practices that appear to enhance security but do little to improve it. Examples: Airport security (shoe removal, liquid limits), visible police presence (patrols, random checks), and superficial ID checks. Characteristics: Symbolic actions that reassure without real security, divert resources from effective measures, and create an illusion of safety. Criticism: Ineffective, leading to complacency and false security; costly with minimal benefits; causes public stress and inconvenience. Purpose and Impact: Reassures the public, deters minor threats, and demonstrates action and control. Conclusion: Calms fears but lacks effectiveness, wasting resources and misleading the public. Control Theories: Government Control: Increased surveillance, conditioning public to accept control. Economic Gain: Benefits security firms, boosts security sector, supports World Economic Forum (WEF) supports reducing meat production Political Motives: Manipulates fear to control public, distracts from other issues. Social Engineering: Conditions behavior, normalizes surveillance. False Sense of Security: Prevents demand for real measures, maintains order through perceived safety.

Can make all the habitat you want in the rivers but what’s the point when they go out to sea they are just getting slaughtered by the seals yet nothing is said about that

Sounds like a disaster in the making. Be better sowing westerwolds straight after harvest, just grub it in stick some mustard and legumes in with it, ticks all the boxes

The best method of controlling rushes is to do something. All methods work to a greater or lesser extent you just have to get out there and do it.Also that type of land needs a bit of tlc and remember you will only control rushes not eliminate them.
