I have a 10th gen 315,000 miles. It sounds beautiful, I replaced almost every part on it already. Only thing that’s left is timing chain and I believe after that I can get another 100,000 miles out of it.

I bought my 2000 F150 in 2003,It had 53k on it and it has the 2v 5.4 litre engine with automatic transmission and the only things i ever had to do is change the plastic intake because it started leaking at the front,and the plastic radiator went bad after approximately 18 years. I did change the coil packs and plugs at 125k.I still love it and it's been very reliable.I have had it for 21 years and now it has 201k but still looks great. I plan on driving it as long as i can.

Did you hear a kack, kack, kack noise prior to the spark plug shooting out? I replaced exhaust manifolds and still hear a kack noise, just at a different tone. at first start up its quiet and after a few minutes it starts the kack noise and then quiets down after the engine reaches full temp. I'm guessing its piston slap or a loose plug or a loud fuel injector.
@TruckLifeProductions
@TruckLifeProductions 2 ай бұрын
I couldn’t tell because I still had the exhaust leak at the time, I was just driving down the road going up a slight hill little bit of throttle and it made a loud bang, no warning sign or anything. Maybe the lifters not getting proper amount of oil, staring to get a noise from them on the drivers side they get quieter s the engine warms up. You could check the plugs by pulling the coils off and checking if any plugs are loose, I believe the torque spec is 25ft lbs (but verify first) been a minute since I’ve checked and don’t over tighten the bolts that hold the coils bc the heads will snap and they are a pain to get out especially at the back of the engine

@TruckLifeProductions
@TruckLifeProductions 3 ай бұрын
It’s not that it was neglected it just barely got driven from 06-07 to 2021 and when a vehicle sits outside and not used much things start to leak and deteriorate paint fades etc. I’m not really completing it just a video to nit pick and have viewers like you watch and create revenue, then in return I can use that money to fix things and drive it. I know it’s an old truck I’ve owned older trucks before that were falling apart and would drive them til the wheels fell off as I would this one, hell I’d drive this truck any day of the week before I’d drive my 19 Ram Cummins

I bought a 99 F150 about 10 years ago. We use it every day because it is so cheap to run. It has the 4.6 hooked up to the automatic. Other than changing the oil regularly and the trans oil once, it has needed no other maintenance and of course the engine air filter. Today, we went for a 4 hour drive one way to pick up a metal rack and it ran flawlessly. It has taken out 3 deer as it has an off road bumper on the front but you would never know it hit those deer. I do have a newer Lariat with all the options like heated and air conditioned seats and dual moon roof and in dash navigation, etc., etc. but the 99 is so cheap to run, it usually gets the nod to go anywhere.

Honestly it’s 50/50. If you don’t beat on it continuously and keep up the maintenance you could probably get a good run out of it. I've been running 285/70/17's since August of 2022. No balancing problems, no shake rattle and roll. Hell they aren't even that loud really and I've ripped them down the expressway at 90 mph. Rode just fine. Off road they just eat. They shred thru Indiana mud and clay like nothing. For under $900 I'd say I got my money's worth. I think your problem is circled in Blue on the front lol
@TruckLifeProductions
@TruckLifeProductions 3 ай бұрын
Well I would agree that it could be a size issue of a bigger wheel and smaller tire but I ran a 22x14 with a stretched 33x12.5 of the same tire on a heavier truck and it rode way better. The other setup was prior to 2020 so I feel like since the pandemic quality has plummeted. The problem ain’t circled in blue lol the problem got a dash in the middle (covid-19) imo
