When adjusting the spray head set screw I get dripping from the nozzle down the tube causing the dirt around the tube to wash away, is there any other way to adjust the spray?
@ewingoutdoorsupply
@ewingoutdoorsupply 24 күн бұрын
What's shown in the video are the only options for adjustment. If you are trying to reduce the radius (distance) by using the adjustment screw, there's a limit of 25% reduction. It may be that the sprinkler head installed isn't appropriate for the location if the stream is exceeding the area you are trying to irrigate. Thanks for the question!

Watch video once, remain calm then actually go outside. Take phone and small flat head screwdriver to sprinkler head. Restart video pausing as each step is explained and accomplished and it all falls into place. if you have compatible rotors you will look like a boss. Not that complicated it is just unfamiliar. Also approach this task expecting to succeed or hire it done instead. Thank you for the no fluff straight forward instructions EOS!

Techniques for installing turf vary. Some say to nail along the seam as well as the perimeter. You should avoid using nails in other areas of the turf. As the turf heats and cools it needs to be able to expand and contract. Thanks for the question!

You people (Rain Bird Designers) are both Idiots and 4sspoles. Turn it all the way right the left till it stops, then turn it MORE Left to where I want it? Then right again and left again then use a screw driver??? WTF! Why not make a 90 degree, 180 degree, 360 degree and for that Rare and poorly designed corner of a patio a 270 degree. No adjustment needed, just buy the one you need. Sure, OK, make a 360 degree you can adjust, just for the engineers to over charge customer $$$ to set them for them ever few weeks. Trust me I like Old Fashion Hose and Sprinkler. Just looking at this because my Mom feel for the sales pitch and no one seems to be able to adjust them. Even the guy that put them in.

I've had systems both ways. The way you recommend is truly a PIA when you need to change the flow to a plant that is bigger (needing more water), or change the plant to something else that needs less water (eg, changing a broad leaf plant to a succulent). To do this, you have to dig up the entire dang line to find the main tube and emitters. I'm in a situation where I'm having to pay someone to dig up an entire side of my yard to deal with flow issues, and it's because of it being installed the way you recommend. NEVER AGAIN.

Can you explain how a outdoor spigot is ok to install on the house water side (inlet) of the backflow preventer. Couldn't you still get contamination into the house water.
@ewingoutdoorsupply
@ewingoutdoorsupply 2 ай бұрын
Yes, you could still get contamination thru the hose bib as you described. It would need to have a hose attached with the end at least partially submerged and water running during a backflow event. For this scenario they make a vacuum breaker for hose bibs like this one: www.ewingoutdoorsupply.com/3-4-inch-hose-bib-vacuum-breaker Thanks for the question!

First I Saw From Progressive. Tempo, Whatever they Brand as, Personally I Think the 620 is the Best, Slide the Switch From Off, Tone, Normally Open, Normally Open with Latch, Normally Closed, Normally Close with Latch. Momentary Connection of Leads Will Sound and Light as long as they are touching. Normally Open With Latch. A Momentary Connection Will Continue to Beep Til Reset Button is Pressed, Normally Closed Work Simullarily. A Note, When Toning Like You were Doing, Sometimes The Signal will Bleed onto Several Wires. When You Find a Pair you believe it to Be, short those 2 together, if it is correct Pair, tone will be gone, if you touch and still here tone, you are not on the Right Pair. Can't Live Without Mine, I Troubleshoot Most Everything. Identifying Coax, Phone, Network Wires. For Cable TV, a New House, Start with putting Signal at Cable input from Cable Company, or Satellite Dish. Then go inside, Find that Cable/Wire, That is Input, All Others Are Output. Or if only using a select Few, Go to master bedroom and Connect Toner to Coax AND Network Wires,(Blue Pair?, Any Pair, go to where all homerun to, And Locate both at Once, Repeat as Necessary. Cars and Boats You can Follow to where the Break is, or Where it is Running to. Testing Fuses. Great on Photo Beams, For Gate Operators, Place on Receiver contact, then move Reflector up and down, left and right to align to Center. Can Place on Wires on an alarm Panel, open and close door(magnetic contact) to hear if it is working. If testing a Pair of wires and to far to Hear, Then the Latching works well to identify, Can't Work without Mine, Is Others With Using Voltmeter and Continuity Tester, The Time to Troubleshoot is Criminally Longer, Customer Pays a Big Price for the Extended Time to Solve, And Customer doesn't know any Better, Just Thought It Must have been a Really Bad Problem, I Feel Bad For Them. Is a MUST have. A Quick look at Your Sprinkler Tester Adds a Voltage Tester. But Only 24 Volts, Better to use a Multimeter as You can Check for 120/240 as Well. I'll Read Up on this Sprinkler Tester, But Don't Feel it Could be Better. If Troubleshoot and don't Have the 620, along with the 200 Inductive Amp, You are Playing, not Working. can you adjust the pressure/power on these?
@ewingoutdoorsupply
@ewingoutdoorsupply 2 ай бұрын
You cannot adjust the pressure but there are pressure regulated versions of these heads. If you want to decrease the distance of the spray (radius), Insert the steel hex end of the Hunter wrench into the radius adjustment screw. Turn the screw clockwise (into the stream of water) to decrease the radius, or counterclockwise to increase the radius. Radius can be reduced up to 25%. Thanks for the question!

When using concentric circles on a newly planted tree should the inner and outer ring have the same emitter spacing and GPH?
@ewingoutdoorsupply
@ewingoutdoorsupply 3 ай бұрын
On the inner ring, emitters on the inner ring can be closer together since the root ball of the newly planted tree is more concentrated near the trunk. Emitters with a lower GPH can be used to prevent waterlogging and ensure the young roots get enough moisture without drowning them. On the outer ring, emitters can be spaced farther apart as they are designed to encourage roots to grow outward, establishing a strong root system. Emitters with a slightly higher GPH can be used to ensure the expanding root zone receives adequate water, promoting outward growth. Newly planted trees need to be watered quite often for the first 30-45 days then back off. Thanks for watching and for the question!
