I wasn’t a fan of the massive time jumps/character replacements in Season 1 but Season 2 like you said feels like nothing was really accomplished. It’s over like a month of time and feels more just an entire season setting up Season 3.

The burn was STD's way of saying "Feelings are the most important thing in the universe, look even dilithium crystals are sensitive to peoples feelings."

You can tell you guys aren't up on the Original Secret Wars saga and recent one either. There are characters in both that could answer so many questions and solve the multiverse problems. Loving the discussion. Keep it up!

Lol when I said the Twitch thing, it wasn't meant to start a Twitch channel. Twitch is where a lot of streaming trends start and then other platforms may start to follow suit to compete. On Twitch, you can just turn a cam on and do whatever job you do and not interact with the camera. The Geeks & Co can just have a camera on while building, without engaging with it- hell, try having one pointed at a 3d printer watching it print - people will watch odd stuff like that.

I remember reading about this theory and it always stuck with me; Dexter created his family in Dexter's Laboratory. I had to look it up to make sure I was remembering it correctly but basically, Dexter accidently killed his family in an experiement gone wrong so he created clones of them in his lab.

It's still easy to retcon all of discovery... as long as other cannon does nothing further to support the trash that it is. She-Jesus, Burnham, can just wake up still in confinement prison and everything Discovery was just a test implanted memory for a new illegal bio-weapon. She permanently is mentally damaged and never ever needs a future cameo after the first episode of the retcon series. Starfleet Authorities bust in and raid the facility devolving the memory altering device. The Klingons also attack the facility simultaneously as the raid is happening. Burnham and all other test subjects die during the raid in the first episode to be permanently removed from cannon. The new retcon series is placed right in the midst of the Klingon War. Discovery never happens - but was only an implanted memory in test subject 1014 (Burnham). ....................... Sure, my idea is stupid - I don't care. It was only 20 seconds of thinking involved it getting rid of Discovery. AND - as dumb as my quick plot line was; it was still far better than all of the writing of all seasons of Discovery. Get a group to brainstorm a better plot and it will be simple to get rid of Discovery without an apology to fans. Because right now, most fans believe they need an apology. Since that will never happen, take another route and give us a good series.

Took you long enough

I decided with much sufference and after several years not watching to look at season 5. It's still Burnham. Burnham is still the problem. The first two seasons she was a literal Mary Sue and then the following seasons were her being a literal Mary Sue but written constantly making mistakes that she then corrects almost immediately, whilst constantly having monologues with the audience about how much she sucks but still keeps going. This season having already saved the future, the Federation (twice) she's now being the literal power of the Progenitors based off a conversation she has WITH HER OWN SUBCONSCIOUS about how she needs her job. A Mary Sue with imposter syndrome where sizeable chunks of dialogue are directed at the audience for not liking the character. Transposed against the briefest of moments where an actual officer takes the bridge and immediately it feels like Star Trek again Episode 8 dedicated a third of its runtime to Burnham having an argument with herself about her relationship with the guy she can't stop going on away missions with. A full third of it dedicated to a lesson we already knew about her from day 1 - she's Starfleet to the core. How did we know this? She told us. A million times. For 4 seasons. Problem is, it was done better. No less than twenty times. Picard had no family because of the fleet. Riker lost his relationship for it. Janeway lost her entire life for it. Hell, just on black women, recently we had Mariner sabotaging her life and being helped through it by a bloody Klingon! Burnhams revelations come from talking to herself. Again. Discoverys writers are incapable of writing people, just archetypes. They are DnD DMs who never learnt that their story isn't important - it's the journey you have with your players that matter

So sad i missed this one, that work thing ... Suuuucks haha

I stopped watching roughly half way through the first season. it's not Star Trek and burnhams character is crap.

Season 4 was so bad I had to hit the stop button by episode 3 or 4, I’ve never had to do that on any series before even star gate universe and fear the walking dead as bad as they were I still dragged myself through them but the constant butt kissing and sucking up to Micheal was just toooooo much and what annoyed me more was the fact that I paid for season 4 on Amazon prime as I don’t have paramount plus, I hate the character of Micheal burnham so much and you are correct they should have called it Star Trek Micheal burnham-the person who does everything-bow before her in wonder…..

I actually liked seasons 1 thru 3, And I actually thought that three had just the right ending for the series, and it should have stopped there. Season 4 was a chore to get through. My husband and I were basically laughing at the fact that every urgent moment needed them to pause and get therapy: The captain needs therapy, now Saru needs therapy, now Owosekun needs therapy, now Adira needs therapy, now the ship needs therapy! Now the therapist needs therapy! Decisions are all made based on belief and feelings which is not Star Trek. I understand believing in others capacity, but there needs to be some kind of objectivity. There are no consequences to anything they do and everyone is saved by the power of positive thinking. Even the Kobayashi Maru is apparently now solvable. This was an insane season.

I feel the same but I must say we had 60 years of Kirk Spock McCoy and 40 years of Picard and Riker, So 2 years of Pike is a little hard on the crew, but it is odd that Uhura and Kirk, and now Scotty are the ones we remember best, Even Kirk's brother has more meaning than the rest. Is it the actors? The writing? or have we gotten to complacent. I do know that for me Discovery Season 4 left such a bad taste in my mouth, I never wanted to watch another episode of Star Trek. Than the Great William Shatner made a movie. You can call me Bill, and we I recalled all the reason I have loved this franchise for so long. I am 70 years old and have / will be a fan for ever. So to the writers, stop taking advantage of people like me and write something that 60 years from now people will want to talk about. Thank you , my soap box is available to anyone who would like to borrow it.

G.i. Joe and Transformers sounds only ok. Neither franchise is doing well.

Fallout is good. Didn't marathon it. But it's why I was late to watch this.
