i can only afford one camera and want do upgrade from my a6000 and can’t decide between sony a7iv or sony a7cii for both sports photography and videography. what would u recommend?

It's the exact same sensor - you can't go wrong with either, quite literally haha. A7CII has the form factor difference being smaller & more compact. It comes down to whether or not you want a smaller camera! Other wise they perform the exact same from both a video and photo standpoint.

there are other brands for cheaper ...i have two 1tb cards and they cost me about 500 for each card ....so i spend 1k but got 2tb vs 1k for 980 gigs ...so ppl look online there are other good companies who make cheaper cards with same big space size

I’m only speaking from my own experience! I usually don’t recommend other brands if I haven’t used them personally - I’m a big believer in showcasing what I personally use and trust. I’m sure there’s more affordable options - just haven’t used them myself :)

its the type A CF express card. Type B cards are better, faster and cheaper

Hi, to begin with I really like your KZfaq channel which I recently discovered and the content you offer. I don't have an A7S3 or FX3 but still have an A7S2 and an A6500. I plan to upgrade while waiting for a new fx3 mark 2 perhaps rather than investing in an a7s3 or fx3 in 2024-2025. I have a question regarding the cards. explain to me the benefit of having a 128 gigabyte sd card which costs 145 euros in my country France compared to an ssd of 1 or two terras which will cost less than the sd cards of your device? wouldn't an atomos plus ssd be more economical and more advantageous in terms of capacities and filming options rather than a 128 gigabyte sd card or a compact flash card which costs the skin of the butt? Thank you in advance for explaining your impressions to me.

i know this is an older video but i shoot APSC on the a6700 obviously low light on the camera isnt bad but not like an a7s3 or fx3 so with that being said would that case be a good case to jump to something like the sigma 70-200 f2.8 or would the f4 macro still be able to get the job done? Ex highschool football under the lights or sports with lighting comparable

U seemed to get many shots of goals. How do u do that ? That’s my issues in soccer. I position myself and I never seem to get the goals right but with you especially that high up shot of mcdavid u nailed it how ? Awesome video and thank you for this it is helpful

Main thing is reps and practice. After doing this for a long time you learn the right spots to be in, and the ones that give you the best chances and angles. I don’t get every single goal or moment and that’s totally fine, but I make sure I’m always keeping tabs on opportunities and moments that could lead to goals in any game. McDavid’s goal was me just literally hitting record & got fortunate he pulled that off. A lot of it is just shooting and seeing what happens. Being high up in the stands also helped that shot specifically - when you’re up high and have a full view, it’s a really easy way to maximize the highlights you capture!

Great video but one minor quibble - a cinematographer has complete control over lighting and doesn't operate at the mercy of their environment. This is great videography but not cinematography.

Great observation, but my counter point to that is keep in mind someone like a documentary filmmaker - would you not consider them cinematographers? They IMO - cinematographers CAN have control over lighting, but also know how to use the lights in their environment if not in control of them, in order to create a visually appealing image. There's more to it than just lighting - composition/framing, camera movements, knwoing your shots ahead of time, etc that goes into cinematography, and I think a lot of that is applied in the work I make! Videography on the other hand I consider to be much more "run and gun" and less prep involved in that sense, less intentionality and more capture whatever is happening at that moment with less care for the product in comparison to a cinematographer. That all being said, it's all semantics!
