Awesome layout but esu is so simple to use,at least for me it's so easy but I have soming new for ho scale coming soon n scale is more complex with dcc and sound it's easy to buy the engines with dcc or with sound.
@N_scale8 күн бұрын
BLI installed with sound 100$ cheaper than esu. No 200$ programmer required. Louder. Can change cvs for different whistle etc. I realize that esu is everyone’s favourite but it is more complicated than it needs to be for a older or middle aged person who doesn’t want to spend more time on computer than running. I have a Kato esu factory installed 4-8-4 It resets itself and then I have to take it to Wayne’s house cause he has 2000$ esu system to reset it. Tan about a pain in ass. On BLI when they need factory reset cv8=008 and done. Oh and BLI nothing outpulls it uphill
@nscaledivision23368 күн бұрын
@N_scale the programer is when u want to speed match or change sounds or put a sound in or make ur own custom sound and add it to the bored but I'm taking about the pre-installed or u can buy a decoder and have the Company, you buy it from add the sound.but some people like taking the easy way out that fine as well lol
@N_scale8 күн бұрын
@@nscaledivision2336 easier. Cheaper. I can customize all those things on my 20 year old digitrax is all in saying. Why is a “factory” sound Kato 500$ And a factory sound BLI 250$
@nscaledivision23368 күн бұрын
@N_scale thats a great question and I agree on the price with on this its crazy how kato wants more $ is what I see
@N_scale8 күн бұрын
@@nscaledivision2336 it’s cause Kato is having a 3rd party or contractor in USA put the decoders in. Plus esu costs more for their decoder.

0:59 One problem with grout is it is powdery. If you get it anywhere close to a Kato #4 turnout, you’ll destroy it.
@N_scale9 күн бұрын
So far so good I use sparingly around the turnouts frog and points. I use a brushed on coating of alcohol and mod podge to seal it all. I will never go back to ballast. It looks much better and I can pick any color, cost, well 22$ to do an entire layout vs 15$ a canister
