So you have to leave the alarm crown pulled up to activate the alarm? And when it strikes you have to push back in the alarm crown?

Would Moebius 9104 (HP1300) oil and Moebius 9504 grease be good for servicing a grandfather clock, or are they only for small items like wristwatches?

Thanks Mike, I hope to be that good and that fast someday. What size of screw drivers is the best to purchase for working on small watches? I recently purchased cheap non working from eBay and I have taught myself a lot.

Saudações do Brasil.👍

The best screwdriver sharpening video by far. Those rollers other people sometimes use make no sense to me. People use them without getting the flats lined up properly with the stone and end up grinding them on an angle and then they have a tip that is no longer square. Doing this sharpening (actually more of a dressing than a sharpening, IMO) manually like you show makes much more sense and produces a much better tip.

I have an ETA/Unitas 6498-2 with a straight crown in a new Tourby watch that is difficult to determine when it is fully wound. The straight crown is noticeable smaller in diameter than an onion or diamond crown. Being smaller I think it has less leverage on the mainspring therefore requiring more force/effort to wind. I'm concerned with damaging the movement whilst trying to fully wind it. Also while winding it clockwise it has has significant counter-clockwise backspin with release of the crown as it gets more wound. I've noticed this on my other hand-wind movements but not to this degree. Does this description sound normal for this movement ? Can you say approximately how many full 360 degree clockwise turns (or revolutions) to fully wind the movement? Thank you and what a fantastic series on the ETA 6498-1 service!

I've found that investing in an India and Arkansas stone means that if I can dress the tips of my screwdrivers to not have imperfections and use the right size tool for the job, buying a set of $60 or $70 higher quality Chinese screwdrivers can cut it for the screwdrivers. Now, I have been paying attention to which screwdrivers I use the most, and I've bought a few one-off Bergeon screwdrivers as my current base is just fine, and I can easily tell the Bergeon screwdrivers from the rest, and I only have 3 of them with a few extra tips.

What I would have liked to see is more on oil cups. In particular, how do you add oil to a cup with minimum waste when all you have is 2ml of 9010, for example? How long can you leave oil in cups? Things like that.
