Most of what I learned of Warhammer Fantasy lore was from half-read tomes and item descriptions in Warhammer Online over a decade ago, and everything you just taught me was entirely against my will However, from what I remember, most of Sigmar's lived lore was ancient history, at least of the time of that game - and he had long previous ascended to godhood after retiring from a long career of chaos- and Nagash-bashing (the setting's true protagonist) and walking off into the mountains.

@HobbyHomiesPodcast8 күн бұрын
Yeah I'm really looking forward to what else he creates! The road trip mini expansion adds a great new element of a nomadic play style, but I really think the core of the game is the base building. Perhaps CRZ goes suburban? 😆

Great game again, I realise this is 2 years ago now, but you keep forgetting to move 1" back whenever you take a stun from a shot. "A roll that is less than *Toughness* will push the target *1”* directly away from the attacker, unless blocked by terrain or other figures. Mark the figure as *Stunned* by placing a *Stun marker* next to it." - pg 46

Kiwi here, I bought the first edition simply because I wanted to back the designer. I'll need to get the new pdf version (postage to here is expensive) - being miniatures agnostic has really helped as you can use 15mm and lots of model railroad scenery. (I 'think' it was me that encouraged Jordan to set up the Facebook page - there's some fantastic table top images on there).

Deadzone has both exploding dice AND a really easy success/fail mechanic. All modifiers just determine how many dice are in the pool, and the target number is on the unit card (and never changes)
@HobbyHomiesPodcast13 күн бұрын
That sounds great. LOVE exploding dice, and keeping modifiers straight forward is a big plus too.

People don't hate primaris models because of the upscaling but because they are bland AF. No identity, everything looks the same.
@HobbyHomiesPodcast13 күн бұрын
They're slowly coming around and adding more character to them, but the first iteration were incredibly bland. I also feel like the monopose aspect has sacrificed a lot of the variability too
@wikoroo236613 күн бұрын
@@HobbyHomiesPodcast I mean yeah, but they do that using upgrades only. Apart from the black templar models and the Inner Circle Companions, all we have are upgrade packs. All the other primaris models are still the exact same carbon copy of the 8th edition primaris with different weapons. Still bland, still boring and still nothing close to the older models. Imagine if they just upscaled the old models, with the same idea, design and identity. That would be much better than the primaris shit we got.

When you began talking about scale - skiemish or mass battle - i thought you were going to point out that different scales of miniatures suit different people and interests. Fun episode!
@HobbyHomiesPodcastАй бұрын
I've found skirmish games suit both Shane and I better, however we still love the occasional full scale OPR or warsurge game also. If we were forced to pick just one style, without a doubt would be skirmish size though.

What is your preference?
@angelicdespot2735Ай бұрын
@@HobbyHomiesPodcast I get that, and think it's probably quite common. But if you're someone who is drawn to gaming by the spectacle, tactics and idea of large armies... but struggle to paint whole armies, collecting a small scale game might be the way to have your cake and eat it!
