This is only a snippet from my full length video in which I do provide the full context of the situation between Derek and the Deliveroo rider. If you read the news report, the Deliveroo rider is at fault as well. Derek was wrong, and the Deliveroo rider was wrong. The police arrived to the scene and didn't take the issue any further. If the situation was only solely Derek's fault, then it would be a different situation with the police. In regards to Derek's fight with Joe Joyce, I have have Joyce winning the fight purely based on where they are in their career. I wouldn't consider it to be a laughing matter if anyone ends up like Gerald McClellan, but you are entitled to your thoughts and opinion.

I totally hear what you are saying, but the majority of these cyclists ride through inappropriate places. I have lost count with the amount of times I've walked on a busy pavement and a cyclist is trying to ride through crowds. We don't see what happened from the beginning, but we can clearly see that it's not safe to ride a bike through that road. Anyone with common sense would dismount and walk through. What Derek said wasn't wrong, but how he said it and it turning into a physical altercation is was wrong. The police arrived and would have come to the same conclusion, hence the reason why they didn't take the matter further.

Of course you are allowed to say to someone that it is wrong to ride down that pavement

Both men are in the wrong. It was unsafe for the Deliveroo rider to be riding through there. Derek wasn't wrong in telling the guy to dismount, but his actions after were wrong. I suspect that Derek spoke to the guy in a way that upset him, hence the reason it escalated. As human beings, we have to learn how to communicate with each other in a respectful manner. This had to be the conclusion from the police who arrived, and decided not to take things further.

I would definitely do the same if I was completely in the right. The footage doesn't show us how the confrontation started. The reports say that the Deliveroo rider was attempting to ride through the busy road, Derek tried to reason with the guy and point out his error, but the guy wasn't happy. It wasn't like that guy was terrified of Derek, he was standing up to him and arguing. The Police came and saw it for what it was and didn't take it any further. If the rider tells the Police officer that he was riding through a busy road full of people, they would just tell him he should have dismounted. The Police would have just told Derek that even though he told the guy the right thing, he should have never have touched the guy.

The Deliveroo rider definitely didn't know who Derek is. I definitely don't condoning how far the confrontation went, but some people don't like to be told that their in the wrong. A lot of cyclists, not only delivery riders, cycle on busy pavements, streets, and even go through red lights, with no consideration for pedestrians. Derek most likely spoke in a tone that the guy didn't like and then it got out of hand.

@@BeltandBraces True. If you are a undisputed or unified champion, it is very difficult to hold on to all the belts because the sanctioning bodies have to enforce mandatory fights for it's champions. Immediate rematches cause champions to have vacate a belt. Although there are times where a sanctioning bodies allows a champion to hold on to a belt for longer due to a unification fight, but if a period of time is over 12 - 18 months or even 2 years, the sanctioning body according to their rules have and call upon a champion to face their mandatory challengers. All fighters aim to work their way up the rankings, to one day fight for a world title. There have been fighters in recent years that have worked their way up to number 1 or mandatory positions in the WBC, IBF, WBO and WBC, and some have waited over 2 - 3 years to get a title shot due to sanctioning body not enforcing rules and allowing some fighters to hold on to their titles longer than they should have. Tyson Fury went a whole calender year in 2023 without facing a mandatory challenger for the WBC title, and the last mandatory fight for that title was in April 2022. Although I agree that a title must be won off a champion, but it is virtually impossible for a undisputed champion to hold all the belts longer than a year.

I don't actually mind running on grass if I'm wearing trail shoes, but it's not the ideal terrain for a race. I won't hold it against the organisers as it was meant to be a community 5K run lol! For the last few years I've seen posts for Hackney Moves after the event and always wanted to go for the activities. I got an email a few days after London marathon about the 5K, and that was my reminder to go. You should definitely plan to go next year 💯
