This is lack of basic respect, and respect is something that everyone is worth. This should have nothing to do with someone being deaf/hoh/hearing, and I'm sorry to learn that some people behave this way.

You should make a complaint. Send an email to HR/admin team. A staff should be trained about the awareness of customer's disability and how to handle it. As l know that you are in USA. In UK, all companies must comply with it as a part of law.

Deaf people aren't obliged to teach you their language, especially not someone on the internet who you don't know. Wanting to learn ASL is amazing! But take the responsibility to learn it without pressuring the Deaf people you know to educate you. Taking a class with a Deaf professor would be better for everyone, or even just learning online :)

No lie this has never gone through my mind seeing a deaf person taking care of a baby or small child but I would be stressed. Not being able to hear the baby. I know there are different degrees to deaf people hearing. I’m talking the ones that can’t hear a peep. The baby is choking on a toy and you wouldn’t even know.

Sorry for the stupid question but if u don’t mind , can you take a video with the theme of your family life like what about struggle of yours daily with hearing world or specific area ? Like I want to now even if I have CI implants grew up as hearing then hard of hearing then deaf 🧏🏻‍♀️.. long story for that here… I want to know and to feel into myself how is like that being full deaf like about your experience ? I want to know that what’s is like being deaf 100% of the most time in life. That’s sooo interesting to me because I have a mixed community and maybe I have a picture of what it's like to be like that. By the way you are great little deaf family and that’s so beautiful to see your culture and to see that I am obviously not alone in this world with these struggles in life. 🤍🫶🏻🤟🏻 Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 Lower Saxony 😁👋🏻

To be honest, I think the last video was only met the way that it was because it deserved more than a 60-second clip. I understand that in the world of gen Z they love their tick tock. But honestly, the issues you're trying to tackle systematic ableism deserves your full-length videos you once did. Simply put, people still enjoy pulling videos also, and in order to truly understand the point you're trying to convey, they need a thorough explanation, not just a minute here and a minute there. ❣️

I wish hearing people noticed that it's literally just giving Deaf people equal opportunity rather than it revolving around Deaf people. HOW THE HELL IS NOT GIVING THE SAME OPPORTUNITIES, AND PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT IT, MAKING THE WORLD REVOLVE AROUND THEM?? Hearing people make no sense to me, a hearing person.

Thank you for your very interesting video. Our sign language is the most important because of how to communicate with the baby if the parents are hearing and the baby is deaf, or parents are deaf and the baby is hearing. Our sign language is for our rights.

This isn’t oppression it’s 2024, order online. On the app. On the touch screen. Then you don’t need to communicate with the drive thru workers at all. It’s that simple. No need to complicate it.

I am curious how it ended. Honestly, they can read your phone. Unless the person has challenges that could impact them reading it there is no reason not to make the accommodation. Also value in management knowing so they can use it as a coaching moment for their team.

There is a Tshirt of that during in 2007 I think... I printed that for Deaf Bilingual Coalition when the founder John Egbert had an event during AGB convention. I kept the t shirt and the artwork too for future printing... I believe it is Marvin Miller's wife who drew it.

Excellent explanation! Vlog or blog may not enough reach those who really don't understand? Maybe few? I could be wrong? I wonder? Someone like you need to voice to be heard to governors, teachers, doctors and audiologists. Because it has been long time ever since I grew up. Now I am 50 yr old. I see small improvement for small deaf children. I know two teachers who agreed sign language are very important but they also strongly support speech and IC.

What you say is very true, I'm hard of hearing and never experienced language deprivation but I have heard of a lot of sad stories from language deprivation and it made an impact on me when I went to a deaf school because deaf students are still behind and even though I never experienced language deprivation, it does bother me almost everyday.

That's cool, but holy crap, you are giving that kid way too much to play with at one time in that tub. Like, I get the kids can't pay attention to things for long, but that's going to overstimulate them, give them, like, two or three things to play with, not the entire fucking toy box.
