You did a good job, both with the transcription and the performance, especially for it being your first time playing banda! Now if the rest of the group could work on their "banda vibrato", you'd be all set to gig.....LOL! Way to go, man!

This is so cool! I like the background information that you also included in the two videos. Was this for your senior recital? If it was, were you able to recruit the players from your fellow classmates or did you get musicians from outside of your school. I wish I could hear live Banda music in Philadelphia.

Thanks so much for your comment! Glad you enjoyed the performance! I did a recital every semester of undergrad except my first one, and this was my second-to-last undergrad recital! Everyone who performed with me in this video was a fellow student at Arizona State University while I was there! It took a lot of work to put it together with everyone's schedules, but it worked out and was a ton of fun!

My embouchure isn't mature enough to sound that amazing, but I wilk say this. I am trying my best to sound just like this video, and I actually uploaded a video of me playing the song. Of course, it can be better and it will get better this week before my audition, but...advice?? The phone makes it sound muffled, so I guess try to ignore that part

Nothing beats slow practice! It does you no good to play it over and over again at a fast tempo if you are struggling with it. It is better to get good slow repetitions than bad fast repetitions.

There is not a specific tempo marked - simply "Andante Sostenuto". I have heard slower and faster performances based on interpretation. Thanks for watching!

Ramón Garavito it sounds great just not used to a fast tempo. A lot of recordings are slower. But I like your interpretation too. Great tone!
