Thank you! I was looking for this type of video too when I was first discovering readathons, and found NO ONE compiling a list, so I thought I'd do it myself (haha.... enneagram 3 here 😅). After that first video, I found another creator, @PageswithPaige, who also does Readathon announcements. So give her a follow too because we may find different ones to share! Which readathon did you pick for August?

@@manda_made I’m doing the Deck of TBR and also trying to do the Ketchupathon. My friend is really into readathons so she introduced me to them and now I love them lol. They help when I’m in a slump.

That is such a huge compliment! Thank you. 🥰 I think most of the pamphlets you've seen are part of the Readathons I participate in, and were created by the host. So I just print them out and make some type of pocket to store them in, But otherwise Canva is an awesome tool. They have so many templates you can adjust for your own purposes. I just use the free version, and find that I can still make really cool things. I'm putting this down in my "video ideas" list because I agree that when I was first learning Canva, it would have been nice to follow a video with the tricks. I'm certainly not a pro, but I could share some simple set up things.

Of course! I invested in a really nice one, but I've always had cheap printers before that were such headaches. Most of what I print is journal stuff, photographs, and art prints. I LOVE this one for what I use it for, but it is specifically for photo printing. So, It does not print on copy paper well, or at least what I've tried so far. I use the thick paper for flaps and the thinner brochure paper for most other things. I highly recommend if its in your budget and you would use mostly for photos. If you want a more multi-purpose printer, I'd check out the other Canon Pixma models. Also, If you have an okay printer already, sometimes all it takes is the right paper to make a better print. Hi Laura! Thanks for the ideas. I ended up printing out the graphics I made for my mid-year freak out tag, and making a spread in the back. I’m also going to transfer the vocabulary I’ve been documenting in my phone back there too. 🥰

So fun! I love that many of them can be stacked for us crazies who need to participate in everything!

Haha! It’s a good problem to have. It’s a really tough choice. I’m always fighting the urge to join 2-3 every month, but that’s just too much. Thankfully a lot of these happen every year, so if you choose one for this year you can make a different choice next year.

Those are the ones I connected to most too! I like the fact that MiddleEarth-athon is only a week, so it’s a good way to combine it with another readathon.

Oh no! We don’t want any one stars here. I’m sorry it didn’t connect with you! I’ll be revamping my thoughts in my august journal video. I’ve really enjoyed putting this compilation together. I hate feeling like I’m missing out on the fun. I also think many people counted on The Magical Readathon for August, but it’s been moved to September, so I wanted to share alternate ideas 🤗 I can also totally relate to needing a break. This month started out strong for me, and now I’m in a little slump.

I will definitely be doing a spread for Battleathon! Currently working on my Magical Hopithon Spread (my July readathon).

You are too kind! I’m really proud of this one, but when I look at my previous journals I feel the same way about them. It definitely takes time to find what works well for you. I used to try painting these beautiful spreads because that’s what my favorite creators were doing, but never loved what I was making. I love paper crafts, and started to embrace that style and am working against my instinct for perfectionism. Enjoying the process will absolutely make you fall in love with your own journal. Keep playing with it and you will have a Picasso too!

Lol! I know. It’s hard to see, but there is a box around it. I think the map maker made it in a larger scale and then stuck it on the wrong side to fit 🙃

I actually cut them out free-hand. I don't think I would have the patience for a cricket. Everyone has their strengths, and lettering is mine... electronics certainly are not though 😅

You are so kind to comment! I am glad you enjoyed. Readathon's have been so fun for me, and I think they help me in my monthly spreads because I don't have to come up with a theme, I can just build off of whatever readathon I'm doing.

👀 lol! I know! The paper pack only included 5 styles of continents, and Australia and NZ were combined on that page. It was a weird map set.

There is a really faint white box around it, so I think that it was intended to be a pop-out so they could scale the country larger.

Thats my goal too! I have so many beautiful stickers, but I tend to only use the tiny little stickers like stars or flowers, and not my beautiful vinyl stickers from artist sub boxes. But I want to showcase them, too… so it’s a battle for sure. I was more confident in cutting the pages out since I had just done so in my previous journal, and I knew it would hold up better if I did it at the beginning so they were more dispersed. If you wait for the end it has more potential for falling apart. This was the Archer and Olive journal i wanted most, but I was blown away by the color. I feel like it is much more vibrant than their website suggests. It’s so beautiful. I got the mermaid and ship ones for future journals too. This whole collection was love at first sight!

That was me too! I would get behind and then not feel excited about it anymore, so I never caught up. That’s why I’m focusing more on doing full pages artsy spreads for the books I’m obsessed with and just writing some quick thoughts about the rest of my reads. Just enough to remember them, but not enough to distract me from the things I really want to remember. I hope you give it another go! Don’t worry about catching up. Just start where you’re at! 🤩

I chose Master of Elements as my calling, but there are plenty other callings that also appeal to me so I might choose a different one to work on for next year, hehe! I'm quite far behind in the readathon as I'm starting so late though so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to complete until the autumn equinox lol. Getting back from a very long reading slump :p
