I wrote Holy Highway with Pope John Paul II. I had the privilege to go as a language translator for him on his trip down the Danube River and through the Balkan Peninsula. The song was written on board the cruise ship as we were returning to Rome. It was written in Polish and translated into English by Vatican translators in 1989.

The King Is Coming was written in Flemish and translated into English by my mother. It was inspired by the Bible study series on Revelation which Robert Payne did in the fall of 1973.

Richard Plummer and I wrote Walk In The Light in the summer of 1982. The song was written in Norwegian and translated into English. The song was written as a tribute to Floyd Scott who was the mentor of Ken Schrader (another driver in NASCAR). It was written after the funeral when he passed away.

I wrote Bethlehem Morning with Fr. Michael Wilde in 2002. The song was written in French and translated into English. Michael Wilde was the best friend of Shawn Obrien.

Ivan Parker and I wrote Fear Not! I Bring To You Glad Tidings of Joy. I was wrong about which anniversary this was written on. It was written in 1977 for our 5th anniversary. I was badly abused by my mother the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and had an aneurysm. I was near death on Thanksgiving. I did recover but I wasn't released from the hospital until December 3. So Ivan and I did our music writing one day after our anniversary that year.

I wrote the music lyrics and tune of There's Something About That Name in 1973. The dramatic reading was written by my mother. It was sung by the choir at Sycamore Hills Baptist Church every Sunday during Advent that year. Glen Payne's nephew Robert Payne was the pastor there.

this song (coat of many colors. echos in my heart. I was raised poor. my mom worked 8hr days in a factory then came home to sew for the public. many times my sister or I needed or wanted something new and she would stay up all night making us clothes. all my young yearsI ashamed because I only wore handmade clothes as i got older she continued to make my clothes in the latest styles. she was not affectionate she was too tired and busy to stop for questions and hugs as I have gotten older I realized my closet was full of hugs. I wish she were here so i could thank her again. one day I will.

Sherrie Easter and I wrote This Christmas I'll Be Home With Bells On. We sat down to write the day after Thanksgiving in 1989. Sherrie's cousin Rob Bahlmer had passed away earlier that year. His death was a turning point in her life. She had been lukewarm in her faith before that but started to serve God more earnestly after that.

Shawn Obrien and I wrote When They Saw the Star on our birthday (December 22) in 1997 1:01:29 . There was a reason we had been apart for more than 3 months. We were happy to be together again and especially during the Holidays.

This song Beautiful Star of Bethlehem was another song we wrote Christmas of 1974 when our daughter Rosi was a baby.

Joy To The World was written by Isaac Watts. He thought praise to God should always be joyful. His music is aways uptempo.

Mark Lowery wrote the words for Mary Did You Know? But the copyright for the tune was stolen by Buddy Greene. It was composed by Ivan Parker.

Richard Plummer and I wrote Man Will Live Forever More Because of Christmas Day in 1972. The song was written in Norwegian then translated into English. At that time Richard Plummer was in foster care with MASCAR racing legend Richard Petty. Richar Plummer came to visit his grandparents who were neighbors of my family and we wrote this song at a party hosted by Charlie and Beulah Plummer.

Ivan Parker and I wrote Fear Not! I Bring To You Glad Tidings of Joy on our 41st anniversary in 2013. We had prayed for my mother to come to salvation and this was the first year she was a Christian. My mother was very deep in sin and Ivan and I prayed for her for many years. What she said was that she was tired of being motivated by fear. She was hungry for the love of God. Ivan and I had great joy that year celebrating the Holiday season with my mother.

A New Star Is Shining was written by Ivan Parker and I on Christmas of 1973. We had celebrated our first anniversary earlier in December and our oldest daughter Rosi was on the way.

Silver Bells is my favorite secular Christmas song.

Mark Lowery and I wrote The Manger and The Cross the Christmas after Mark had written Mary Did You Know?

My triplet sister Ladye Love Smith wrote the words for Tender Tennessee Christmas. I composed the tune.
