Could you use this board as well for pumpfoiling?
@KiteRepublicAustralia3 күн бұрын
I would go towards the Pace or ideally the Pace SLS for pump foiling. This board has a bit more flex that what you'd be after for this. Keep your eyes peeled in the coming few weeks, there's something else on the way that you might like ;)

If the price would be 20-30% less, I'd consider. But now Honu looks better for me. A same class, the same technologies, a same slick and minimalistic l&f, but a price is more attractive. Think about to cut your expenses.

I have been using this board (6’2) now for 4 months; mostly winging and just starting to paddle & DW; it is a bit chunky to prone but I am going to try it this summer…this is a solid review by Kiterepublic and very accurate. The shape was progressive when it debuted, and then this board was quickly discontinued and is now considered a dated “transition shape” by most vs the current DW long & narrow trend. This shape in a stretched out 6’4 21 105l would be maybe be my ideal for a “foil everything” board, however, this 6’2 board has accelerated my learning curve..it is easy! My guess is the DW shaping trend may pendulum back a bit to this quickly forgotten and bypassed/overlooked mid-length shape….trim it up a bit, slightly more LWL, and it’s timeless. Several other vendor/reviewers back in the fall of 2023 suggested that this board was a funky and oddball experimental shape and to stay away from it, but I think Kiterepublic nailed it, even a year later as I write this…happy with my choice despite all the other racier DW shapes out there right now..

Awesome review I have a set of progression wings which I love I've been prone surfing and kite foiling with question is will I be better off with a vyper 130 for kiting vs the 125 progression which I've been using or even the vyper 90 but I'm thinking that may be to small. Will the vyper be better for landing big jumps/turning and whatever kitefoiling I'm doing or I won't see much of a difference also for tow ins to? Thanks
@KiteRepublicAustralia3 күн бұрын
Sorry this was missed. I think you'll be happy with both for kiting however in my mind the Vyper has a few features that make it my preference on the kite. For kiting due to the considerate power you have on tap the glide isn't such a big deal. Both are great here however I love the Vyper 130 under a kite ;)

do you think they have moved the inserts for the straps or is there a bigger gap between front and back inserts? I upgraded from the 2023 model to the 2024 but still figuring out the best strap position. if I put the straps at the same position I did on the 2023 model it still feels odd. I know the have moved the foil box forward rthough. cheers

@KiteRepublicAustralia8 ай бұрын
Try the 680 & 780 and decide if you're after pushing the envelope (as the 925 did) or you're content with better turning but a little more lift and consistency of the 780. Good luck! If you're around Melbourne hit us up and grab a demo ;)

@KiteRepublicAustralia8 ай бұрын
Hey Jedro... is this for prone, winging, what style of riding and conditions etc.? I would suggest for similar efficiency but more glide and rest that the 680-780 will likely be the space, however give me some more info and I'll give you my thoughts. If you're in oz feel free to call the shop and happy to chat ;) Chris

High end speed on a wing it has a place. It has that raw, hold on to your hat ability that some people love and foil for. Outside of this I'd suggest the Progression is a no brainer ;) Both great wings!

Do you really mean "... super high stall speed..."? Wouldn't you want a low stall speed, and high max speed, for a downwind foil? Basically maximum speed range?
@KiteRepublicAustralia8 ай бұрын
Correct... the buzz definitely didn't help me there. Thankyou for your clarification. Indeed I'm talking about low stall speed, being able to rest and sit at low speed. I hope everyone shares the same stoke that we do, where if customers touch base with us directly we can work towards exactly what suits them and what they are striving to achieve. Unfortunately it's very difficult to personalize a video too much without this information. Hope you're loving your watertime mate, always happy to touch base and help in any way we can (whether you're purchasing from us or not :) Hope to hear from you soon.

I made the shape myself, I guess... 🤣😂🤣😂 He is probably really an al around nice guy as he was announced and not a good liar? Why is the company Naish putting their teamriders thrue this kind of crap? Whats wrong with being a board designer as a profession, and/or being a team rider as a profession? Who really would like to buy the first board a guy has designed?
@KiteRepublicAustralia10 ай бұрын
Hi derfd… thanks for watching the video. Not entirely sure of the point you’re trying to make 🤷 but the feedback from the Traverse has been fantastic across multiple years. Agree it’s very exciting that riders of the caliber, talent and background of Ewan can perfect their trades over many years and take the next step into positions such as Head Kite Designer for Naish. Make sure you try the new Pivot 2024, Ewan’s first official release on the kite side of things, and again outstanding feedback to date. If you have any videos or reviews that you’d like feedback on feel free to get in touch and we’d be happy to have a look. Best of luck for the season ahead, hope you get plenty of watertime.

It’s fantastic to see such a wide variety of riders and brands pushing the sport at the very pointiest of levels. We’re in such a great space right now when it comes to wing foiling and the varying disciplines and riders of different backgrounds and sports coming through. Hopefully you’re managing to get out there on the water a bit and if you ever get the chance to write or video a review specifying the differences and your perceptions of these wings back to back were always interested to hear and hopefully learn from passionate people around the world like yourself. The feedback and testing we’ve had and done in the unit dlab 2024 has shown nothing but exceptional results, I’m sure if you’ve riddde. It you’ll agree as far as wings go it’s an amazing option for many people out there. Thanks again for your passion and for watching our review 👍

Question. Is the 11'3" Sport surfable, or touring only? Compared to say the 10'6" Ride?
@KiteRepublicAustralia10 ай бұрын
@@Broughden the 11'3 sport will give you a bit more glide and easier distance with your little one on the front, however both boards will allow you to paddle with a 4yo on them. I'm 85kg, I can comfortably paddle a 10'6 ride with my 6 & 8yo both on the board. We are more like a tug boat in terms of glide but very doable if your balance is ok. With one of them on there we catch little waves, can pivot turn the board and play around some more. If you're aiming to paddle with your wife (on her own board) then the 11'3 glide (& your little one on it) will definitely help you keep up with her on the 10'6 and you'll have more even paddles than if you're just adding a little one to the front of your 10'6 next to her. Both are 32" wide and have comfortable stability for this. Hope this helps :)
