It was a blast! I have a video of a trip on the San Gabriel River publishing later today! We usually end up bringing back more trash than we took out there. It’s pretty easy to just throw things in the kayak and fish them out later so we try to pick up whatever we see as we go.

Nice! The flow is kind of low right now, but if you go to the Old Garner Oakmont section the level is always nice because of the small dam there. Have fun!

A kayak cart is definitely going to be a game changer for my solo kayaking. I put in at Blue Hole Park in Georgetown Tx, and paddled upriver and then back down again. The bass was probably my PB tbh. I mostly fish for white bass and crappie.

@hootonoutdoors3 ай бұрын
I have a OG Coosa as well. A retractable dog leash is actually meant to be used. Can’t remember what size, put the retractable part in the handle area facing backwards with the line going down the side of the yak towards the back handle. Use a big chain wrapped in an old bike tube. Works great!

Great video! I haven't been on the river in a couple of years. Me and my sons use to put in at the bridge in Ding Dong! We live in Temple. Water has been shallow for years. I'm trying to fish this weekend so this video let me know the levels. Maybe I'll see ya on the river some time!
@Buenas_Vistas3 ай бұрын
I have been considering the levels in Ding Dong for a trip! Still seems low over there right now too. Maybe when the lakes are back to 100% the rivers will be better too. Lately I’ve been considering the San Gabriel. Either way, if you’re out there we’re bound to run into each other sooner or later!
