Man I watched your channel growing up, the FGC is awesome I shed an actual tear when I saw Punk won. I mean just like you said Jerome, the fact of watching a person legacy being built up and us as viewers watching that legacy or helping in building that legacy by helping that player grow either directly or indirectly. And it’s always nice to see exhilarating battles in every EVO top 8… well now top 6. Like I think one of my fav moments is from UMVC3, Justin Filipino Champ, KaneBlueRiver, Flocker. Felt like the giants of the game, and each tourney they’ll appear in individually to fight always felt like conclusion to say “Yeah they’ll win little to no problem sometimes.” And MVC3 was at most tourneys since 2011, and then UMVC3 came to EVO in 2012, I would watch would see ChrisG always make his way up pools, but thought “This man deserves a W at EVO at least” but would always get knocked out before getting it. So the added info saying that in 2016, it would be UMVC3 final year from what we knew at the time. So I was at least hoping he would finally get his name in the history book of Marvel saying he won EVO, and he does. Damn this is a long message I’m writing, but I hope it gets the point across that the FGC to outsider, may look like people playing video games, but is an actually wholesome place, that yeah we may have problems in ours lives, but we can forget about them entirely or temporarily, by booting up the consol of our choice, select our fighting game of choice in our game library and start playing. Games can bring people together, but our game of choice has Fighting spirit in it which promotes growth either by facing battles head on whether it’s in real life or in online. And if we get knocked down there’s someone out there who’ll motivate us to get back in the game. In short I love the FGC and EVO, and especially I’m looking forward to the next vid Jerome.

I'm not big on super heroes/villains but i do appreciate good character design and writing... i personally wouldn't have picked Kaley Cuoco as the voice for harley, as Harley is insane, not well mannered and coherent and i find the voice doesn't match that character. But ultimately i don't mind, as this show seems to be a "slice of life" comedy hour show where we are just going to use these characters to make some silly gags that people would think are funny as these characters normally would never get in these situations. I May infact check it out now... the most recent harley i've seen is from Suicide Squad kill the justice league (good Video game by the way) which she is voiced by tara strong ofcourse... but to be fair the writers did a good job at making her and the crew feel like real characters and she is also written to be independent of joker in that game.

They said they had an announcement to make for UNI2 at Anime Expo a couple weeks back, so that's on you. They might have something to show at EVO which is even more exciting. And she comes out in August.

From the comments I expected this to be a hater video, but I agree the story was the weakest aspect of the game. With character interactions, I think it's not fair to compare the character participacions and interactions in a game with 13 characters vs one with 60+. It's hard to make a storyline where everyone matters and everything makes sense. Even in a Fire Emblem. Still, the gameplay of the game puts it solidly as my favorite strategy RPG. For me, the story serves more as a pillar to support the brilliant gameplay, and that's enough. Also the 10 years of development was not continuous development. It was because they were going back and forth with other projects

I initially detested the game's combat mechanic but stayed for the story only to do a 180 and loved the team building aspect of it while the story got a bit generic. The story was still passable and not offensive but it wasn't that memorable. I loved the logic-based strategy regarding team but once I got a team going you rarely need to build more than that other than to try them out for different strat or wanting their rapport up. It was definitely a surprise game for me and it scratched my FFT itch for the time being in terms of tactics-based jrpg. Fire Emblem just got stale so a change of pace in gaming approach was nice, art was gorgeous, sound design was excellent and choices of waifus were top tier.

In fire emblem, Characters mattered... not all of them were of the utmost importance but it felt like they were real people with motivation towards the state of the world... it is a real shame this game tries to be fire emblem but with Real time strategy (which is a really cool idea) but seemingly failing at realizing why fire emblem was good... the strategy... the characters... Unicorn looks fun to an extent and i will play it now... but at the start of your review i was hopeful, then you explained some of the mechanics and i got slightly dissapointed... thanks for enlightening us you did a great job.

Until today I did not finish the game because of how bored I got to the story and I dont need to be 13 sentinels level its not the same writter or director but their other games had enjoyable stories or at least thought provoking enough to get you to the ending and feel satisfied.

Not gonna lie, I couldn't get into the game because I didn't liked that the combat was automatic, I prefer having full controll at all times of what my characters do, rather than just watching them doing random moves from time to time. But even though I didn't played it fully, I do agree with your sentiment of having so many characters, and all of them being completely and utterly irrelevant to the plot besides the few "main" characters, might as well be a bunch of generic units if they are that unimportant. I really hate when devs put bonding systems on their game, only to be irrelevant to the overal plot, like, why? make it change the narrative damn it, this is literally the strenght of videogames, this is literally how TRUE storytelling should be for the medium, it should actually matters, not be just a pretty feature that just exist for stats reasons. Anyways, I don't think this game is "underrated" or anything, with my short time playing it, it feels like it's current "popularity" it just right, I don't think it's even Vanilla's finest or anything, I still prefer a game like Oboro Muramasa at the end of the day.

I'm all for you playing through games that interest you and don't lean towards the majority demographic. I also almost bought sakura wars myself but my tastes are more character action/ shooter/looter... RPGs are very few to actually grasp my attention then again i love watching others play them.

It's a bit of a red herring but at 18:47 Kuon mentions he felt and Indulgence Weapon nearby and Tsurugi brushes it off saying that was probably Hyde. It was actually Izumi staving off the power seeping out of the Abyss. Izumi has the third indulgence weapon in the series next to Hyde's Insulator and Seth's Eliminators and her powers are important in stopping the Abyss from running rampant. It's ability is called the "initiator" but we know absolutely nothing else about it at this point aside from that the fact that it seems to be a living weapon taking the form of a talking fish. The EFG's influence directly comes from Sakaki, its leader. We still don't know much about him but he was smart enough to know Tsurugi would need backup and somehow knew Izumi had the power to help, providing a near perfect ending scenario with no sacrifice required.

I wish there was a story mode. Arcade stories are fine, but they feel more like "what if" rather than a proper conclusion to the story, makes it confusing Kuon succeeding in his and destroying the world, but being beaten on everyone else's.
